Description of JacobsParts XL4015 5A DC-DC Buck Step Down Voltage Constant Current Converter Module with LED Voltmeter, USB Output, and Adjustable Power Regulator Board

Maintain stable output voltage and limit the output current over a range of input voltages. Great for general voltage conversion, battery charging, powering raw LEDs, automotive electronics, battery conversions, micro-controllers, and electronic projects. Three indicator lights lets you know what is going on at a glance, a useful feature for battery charging. Input Voltage: 5-36V DC, Output Voltage: 1.25-32V DC, Max Load: 75W/5A Peak, 50W/3.5A Sustained (whichever is lower, amps or watts). Input must be at least 1.5V more than the output voltage. Applying reverse polarity voltage to the input or output may damage the module. Be careful with the USB port, not apply more than 5V to USB devices. Conversion Efficiency: Up to 96%, Dimensions: 68x39x15mm, XL4015 IC, 180KHz Switching Frequency.

Voltage and current regulation.

I like the module. There are voltage and current settings. Before powering up the power module, make sure you have located all the nuts and fasteners for the four mounting holes. I thought they forgot to give me a nut but it got stuck between two components. So just stop by.

Very powerful for the price

I use this to control light consumption in cracks in my solar shed. I checked the readings with my multimeter and the numbers seem accurate. Most of the time I keep the potentiometers at the same settings because my needs don't change. I have used it to charge several batteries that I no longer have a charger for and I have worked well with this application.

Filastruder uses it as a torque limiter

This is the exact same board that comes with the Filastruder threading machine. Operation is simple - turn the left potentiometer until the voltage reaches the desired level, connect the load and turn the right potentiometer until it delivers the required current. Filastruder uses this to limit the extruder motor output torque to avoid breakage. machine, which is a somewhat delicate DIY machine; The instructions say to set it for no more than 1.4-1.6A.

Works exactly as expected. Excellent value for money and quality.

Works great as a floating battery charger. The tension can be precisely adjusted and remains stable. In the event of a power failure, it does not need to be reset. The only unexpected behavior is that during an external power failure the display stays on and is powered by the battery, but the display can be turned off to minimize battery drain. The current limit works well too. Ideal as a continuous power source for battery and intermittent loads. I set the current limit low so the battery…

Current Limiting!: Power Supply Accessories

I use this to drop the voltage from 12v to 8v for supercapacitors that draw virtually unlimited current while charging and destroy unprotected power supplies. Short circuit protection can also be useful in other applications. When shipped the outputs are set to maximum and the potentiometers turned fully clockwise, so expect a few counter-clockwise turns before the output voltage and current decrease. The button to the left of the LED digits toggles the LEDs on and off (but not power). The…

Just keep lowering it until you find your voltage and current.

TLDR: I thought it was broken when I got it but after going through everything I finally found the answer and it seems to do a good job of limiting both current and voltage . Just turn these screws counterclockwise 10 or 15 times until your voltage or current drops. Longer version: I hooked it up to my 12v power supply and full voltage went through and adjusting the potentiometers didn't seem to affect the voltage. or current. I found someone on youtube with the same problem and the answer was…
