Not bad but don't expect much

Not bad for low theft protection but as other reviewers have noted it can be removed by damaging the cable, the lock or simply by removing it from the Kensington lock Rip out the lock connector on the computer. Because every laptop manufacturer makes a port differently, you can't blame the lock if the port is weak. However, the combination is small and more like a cheap bike lock. I bought mine for the convenience of not having a key sticking out of the cable lock I carry in my pocket. (I use…

Weak lock - read how I removed it

I bought a Kensington ComboSaver to protect my laptop at work. The product was easy to use and easy to change the combination. I used it for about a week and then I had to change the combination. I set the correct combination, flipped the lever, set the new combination, and flipped the lever again. Then, as usual, I locked the notepad. At the end of the day I set a new combination and the lock would not open. I entered the old combination and that didn't work either. Maybe I did something…

Sad reflection on the state of product design in the US

Well first of all I don't understand how this lock gets 2.8 stars out of 5 on Revain (as of the date of writing this review in February 2019). September 2016), when 71% of reviewers gave it 1 or 2 stars and only 29% of reviewers gave it 3 stars or more. If you look at the three stars out of five in Revain's summary, you might think it's a decent product, when in fact over two-thirds of buyers think it sucks (myself included). one of those indestructible molded plastic hanging gizmos that will…

Do not buy this product

Honestly this product is not worth the money they charge for it. I would honestly say this is a $5 product. The quality was so bad I couldn't even get the toggle switches to lock for 20 minutes! This is unacceptable and Kensington should stop selling this inferior product. If I were you, I would buy one or two levels up, it's worth a little more money to really put it to good use.

Ideal! Computers and accessories

Good. it's a castle! Works as it should: I think laptop theft must be a thing of the past where I live because I couldn't find it in any of the local stores. But Revane had it, and it was delivered straight to me. You must be wondering why physical purchases are declining while online purchases are increasing?

Not sure. Please read

As with other reviews, it took me a while to figure it out. Unfortunately, the lock could not be removed. I even tried all possible combinations! Tech support told me my lock was broken, which I understand can happen with any product. Sometimes a rotten egg is put in the basket. Kensington offered to pay for my locksmith services and send me a new lock. It was great except for this: I had to take my laptop to a locksmith. I wondered how to cut the cord. Scissors? Nah, too thin. Wire cutter…

Laptop Lock Reviews

Locks like Kensington ComboSaver, Microsaver and Master Lock, including Targus Defcon CL and Compucage Benji. MacWorld magazine (May 2005) also gave this type of lock bad marks.[.]

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

I bought this lock for a business trip to Grand Cayman. I live in Chicago so the travel time was quite long. I have a new Sony Vaio that I was planning to use at work and I decided to install a lock to deter theft. It is not possible to set a new combination. When I finally managed to replace it, I attached the lock to my desktop. The working day went well. I was grateful for the lock even though the company I worked for wasn't concerned about theft. At the end of the day I wanted to unlock the

Not bad, but don't expect much

Not bad as a low-level anti-theft device, but as other reviewers point out, it's not impossible to remove the cable, damage the lock, or just rip it out of the connector for the Kensington -Lock on the computer. Because every laptop manufacturer makes a port differently, you can't blame the lock if the port is weak. However, the combination is small and more like a cheap bike lock. I bought mine for the convenience of not having a key sticking out of the cable lock I carry in my pocket. (I use…
