Not a full role. in solder

This isn't my first roll of solder so I'm counting on my ignorance to explain. So it was NEVER a full roll of new solder. It was taped back into its little box and twisted where it was taken out and rolled up again. Not professional.

Pros
  • Standard Core 66 (3.3% flux)
Cons
  • old

Excellent flow, poor winding

So this is solder. It works fantastic! As if wound on a roll from production. just no. It seems confusing, but it isn't. Sometimes it gets stuck and breaks. But soldering is amazing. It flows beautifully. I will only work with this as the solder is good. So please let the manufacturer wind up the solder more carefully.

Pros
  • Leaves light/shiny solder joints after reflow
Cons
  • Some problems

It's even thinner than it looks in the picture

I thought I had the thinnest solder money can buy until it arrived. This is great for working with very small parts, but for larger joints, the next size up means you have to insert a shorter length into the joint. (You'll still end up with a pound of solder anyway). 63/37 goes from liquid to solid very quickly, which is great.

Pros
  • High Active Rison Core
Cons
  • Doubt it

Good solder. suitable for welding and soldering

Everyone loves Kester solder so I decided to give it a try. It's a good solder, there's no denying that, but it's not the best solder I've used. Loctite Multicore is slightly better and leaves a much shinier finish. After examining both solders at multiple joints under a microscope, Kester had thousands of tiny pits that weren't visible to the naked eye, while Loctite had far fewer pits and was shiny under the microscope, while Kester did not. Comparing knuckles side by side while Kester is…

Pros
  • Industry standard for decades
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
