small tools. what is the question

Good pliers. Easily cut #12 solid wire and cable ties. Be careful buying used and save a few bucks on Revain. my set was used. I was wondering how the new pliers could be used. Well they were brand new with damaged handles.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Reliability

Well done, Klein products are great.

Received today. Powerful cutters are required for work. Haven't tested it in the field yet, but Klein never disappoints and I'm happy to try it. I love the 9 inch cutter. That extra inch is important. There will be an update on how they work as a commercial electrician in the Arizona heat.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Expensive

Side cutters are always the best

These are the most advanced diagonal cutters or "Dykes" in my world. I've been an electrician for 23 years and will only use these. The only reason I have to replace them is because I lose them from time to time. Other brands will flex and flex when trying to cut through a heavy nail or 4/0 copper triplex. It may take them two or three contractions to get through some powerful 4/0s, but you'll make it without breaking your arms.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Great pair of dykes/side cutters/whatever you want to call them!

These are very well built cutters. They have a very smooth ride and plenty of leverage at 9 inches in length. I had a project where I needed to pry some nails out of the corner of my deck and these pliers held up pretty well. Even after all that digging and cutting, I could still use them to make a good cut on duct tape. I definitely recommend them!

Pros
  • Hands Free
Cons
  • Good but not great

Not the same quality as before

Small is not the same as before. The blades on these pliers are offset and overshoot so they don't cut stranded wire very well. The handles are not straight and curved inward. This is my fifth pair and only one of the five was of good quality. I hope Klein will fix the quality because these are my favorite pair and that's why I keep buying them, but it's hard to choose one that isn't all defective.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Well-made side cutters, but.

I bought wire cutters to remove the clips from the fuel lines. My stainless steel staples have pretty strong heads; the side cutters could not easily cut through them; I had to approach the heads from different angles in order to cut off and eventually mutilate them; However, I think I have the wrong size cutter for this - I need a larger one with more leverage and bigger jaws. The instrument itself is well made; strong, comfortable handles, should work normally, cut wire.

Pros
  • Wire cutters
Cons
  • So far so good

Glad I have them in my tool box now

I'm a big fan of Klein Tools, I have a lot of these and usually give them 5 stars. However, there was some rust on the pliers I received, which I found strange for brand new pliers. Hence my 4 star rating. Overall I'm glad to have it in my toolbox now. Their long handles allow for better leverage to get into tight spots that I otherwise couldn't reach because my hand doesn't fit. The soft padded handles make them comfortable and easy to use. They feel heavy and I could cut through hard plasticโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Tools & Homeware
Cons
  • Legacy

This is a professional tool. I had to cut hundreds of round shank nails, construction staples, various screws and other fasteners. Some of them were hidden under hardboard. These cutters are 9 inches longer than any competitor. This gives them more reach and more leverage. The cutting edges are indeed very well hardened. After hundreds of cuts, none of the cutting blades had the slightest ringing left. Thanks to the blue plastic on the handles, the soft-lined tool sits comfortably in the handโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Power and hand tools
Cons
  • Unsafe
