Dangerous malfunction

Overall this heater wasn't as good as the older model but I haven't written a review yet. I bought this fan last December to replace one of my older models that ended up breaking. So far this has worked well. But in the last few days I've encountered a dangerous malfunction. I set the temp to 70F and hesitated. After a few minutes he changed the setting to "Max" and stopped hesitating! It got very hot. For the last 2 days I just unplugged it and tried again the next day because it wouldn't turn

Not enough heat coming out, weaker than Lasko 5307

Bought the 5307 version last year and it still works great. I chose another one and got 5309. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and it's definitely not as good as Lasko 5307. For some reason the heat isn't that high and takes longer to heat up. in a smaller (less than 150 square foot) room with high ceilings than the Lasko 5307. What would take about 1 hour to comfortably heat my room with the Lasko 5307 would take about 2 hours with this Lasko 5309. not sure if i got the wrong one. Butโ€ฆ

Trick to Accelerate Heat Distribution - Oscillation

Pros: Ceramic, more attractive than most, Oscillation helps distribute heat around the room, Longer power cord than competing products. Cons: When set to 80F in a 55F room without hesitation, the heat seemed to stay in the unit rather than the fan pushing it out into the room. I have to stand directly in front of it to warm up, even though the device runs for an hour. -- Then I tried the "oscillate" setting. It made a big difference. Heated the room in minutes. Replaced a Holmes heater that had

Stable operation, the wire heats up a little.

Before deciding to trust this thing, I thoroughly tested it in the place where it is going to be used. This is my second winter of using it and it works great. I deduct a star for the heating wire behavior described below. The heater works very quietly and heats a small room well. The bedroom is 270 square meters. feet, it hardly heats up the room after hours. The bathroom is 70 square meters. Feet, it heats up quite a bit in just 10-15 minutes. Cables and plugs heat up slowly but noticeably at

Same problem as 95% of "Temperature Controlled " heaters

I've tried MANY small heaters advertised as temperature controlled. Most (if not all) of them appear to share the same temperature controller, no doubt from the same source or made to the same blueprints. None of them had anything resembling fine controls, and most don't work at all. Some refuse to turn off at a certain temperature or number. Some refuse to turn on in temperature control mode, and many failed due to overheating so badly that the plastic parts melted and were close to catchingโ€ฆ

Do not use without supervision!

Update February 17, 2018 I tried to use it again this week and it took two days to get very hot and the arrester circuit to which it was connected failed. ripped out, currently too dangerous to use and I'm throwing it away! But I'll cut the cord so nobody finds it and tries to use it because it might burn the house down. It got that hot. At the moment I would give ZERO stars as it is a FIRE HAZARD. -------------- -------------- -------------- -------- Update: December 9th 2016 It was a bitโ€ฆ

Additional heating.

I bought this little device (for a friend) during those transition days between fall and winter/winter and spring months. .You know that time (in temperature controlled homes) before the apartment complex either turns on the heat leading into the winter months or after the heat has been turned off in the spring and it's still not warm enough outside so your space is still there gets a little chilly. I have to say I have a larger Lasko heater which I use in my home in the same way so I amโ€ฆ

Big size but warm plug and circuit breaker trip

This vibratory heater from Lasko is a really good size. A few inches shorter than most tall towers, but also a few inches taller than many compact or mini towers, so a very good in-between size, you don't see much. medium sized rooms. Decent on a low setting (750W), very strong on a higher setting (1500W). A low setting benefits from the same fan performance as a high setting. In my opinion, the lower fan output means that the lower setting is not as efficient at heat dissipation as Honeywell's
