Great gift suitable for kits

Gift to my son for graduation. With COVID, he suffered not in the company of friends, but in personal study. He loves Lego Mario and is building his own collection. Came with all parts and works great.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Something different

Luigi doesn't recognize any of the character barcodes.

Is there a specific way Luigi can recognize the barcodes/chips of each character? Luigi turns on and talks, recognizes brick colors but remains a blank green screen when placed on character tiles. Grandson has Mario sets and works great but Luigi doesn't and is very disappointed.

Pros
  • High marks for tester support and durability
Cons
  • Expensive

Satisfied with the delivery.

This is a Christmas present that I am very happy with. The price when bought was better than in the store. Delivery was quick but a knock on the door told me it had been thrown away and the box's curved lid proved it. Not bad, but I'm glad the box wasn't worse. Santas don't give broken presents. I'm sure my kids will be happy. Both will be able to play, now our Mario has Luigi.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • almost never

Luigi's Defect: Building Toy

Pre-ordered as my son loves Luigi and Mario. He got it for his birthday and loved it. Unfortunately, after quick assembly, he found that Luigi's figure was defective. We changed the batteries several times but it still didn't work. We tried downloading Lego Luigi and the app but it still didn't work. I told him to just give it back but only made him angry for working so hard to collect it. I'm not sure who to go to to complain about this. Need help

Pros
  • It's OK!
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

It's Lego and Nintendo! What else can I say?

Two of the biggest names in entertainment and quality come together! I know this isn't the first kit they've made together, but it lives up to the quality and value both companies have always demonstrated. The build quality and the simplicity of the instructions are as easy to use and follow as Lego has always made their products. And if you love Nintendo as much as I do, then this game is for you. These are actually the first Nintendo themed products that me and my kids are fighting ownership…

NO INSTRUCTIONS 😠

Very annoying. Up until this point, Lego sets came with paper instructions so kids could build them themselves if they wanted to. However, these new Mario Bros Legos require you to download an app on your phone or tablet to build them. This is funny for many reasons. My kids don't have phones or tablets so I have to download them and give them my phone. I am a vigilant parent and am aware of the dangers of being young and having too much access to phones and the internet. Opportunities are…

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive
