Broke my system

I used it with a Linksys EA9300 which is a great router. I know very well how to use networks, routers, switches, etc. I set it up in range extender mode with duplicate network names for each range and 802.11r roaming enabled. I used the Linksys utility to determine the best location for the extender (fairly close to the router).1. Very little increase in range.2. Significant speed reduction.3. The router with the expander issued duplicate addresses and the clients stopped working. Over the…

Linksys AC1200 (RE6350) WiFi Range Extender.

I would give the range extender 5 stars but I have to deduct a star due to poor/wrong setup instructions. One of the first screens asks you to specify which power strip you bought, but there's no RE6350 on the list and that's it. In addition, the specified link address does not connect to the extender. I recommend using the WPS method to connect the extender to your router. You can find a YouTube video on how to set this up. I also found installation instructions online, but there are no…

LinkSys AC1900 Works great

I have used this extender to boost the signal to both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz. Easy to set up, BUT. I had to search the internet why the 5.0GHz band is not syncing to the device. What they do NOT tell you is make sure you are in the lower band of the 5.0gz channel. I was so frustrated with WPS not connecting (2.4 connected like a snap) that I was willing to bring it back. Then I found out that WPS only works on low channels but is not configured through the web interface. Naturally. Having found a…

Keeping disconnecting from the internet

Was very excited to see the extender's performance after going through the easy to use setup. It worked surprisingly quickly. For a couple of hours. After that, the internet got disconnected and I couldn't access any websites. I rebooted my entire system - cable modem, cable router and Linksys extender. He went back to work. I thought this would solve the problem. There is no such happiness. After a few hours I could no longer access the internet. I called Linksys Technical Support. The tech…

  • Hard to say

As a preface: I'm a chemical engineer, 36 years old and not new to tech things. Purchased July 25, 2016. As of this date June 30, 2017 (less than a year later). The device is broken. No longer appears in the wireless network list. The problem was fixed by hard-wiring the extender to my computer via ethernet and I couldn't even access the device by IP address. Tried to reset several times too. It was clearly dead. Then I spent over an hour on the phone with Lynksys, ran all the diagnostic tests…

Amazing repeater. Even faster than my router.

Okay, first of all. Forget all the negative reviews just for bad assembly instructions. Setting up a WiFi extender is as easy as pressing the WPS button on your router, then the extender. Wait about 2 minutes for the light on the extender to turn green, then go to the website for setup instructions. It is so easy. Throw away the instructions. I don't know who wrote them, but they are terrible. Now to the expander itself. I have an ASUS AC1750 router that we bought in 2016 and it's still good by

Avoid this product Linksys RE6350 - needs constant reset

My Linksys RE6350 arrived less than a week ago. The retail box and the device had no cosmetic defects. He looked new. Initial setup was easy and worked in both 2.4Gbps and 5.0Gbps extender modes for my NY Spectrum cable service. I immediately noticed that the wireless printer at the other end of my house can now print faster. That was the main reason we bought this Linksys power strip. Everything worked without problems until the end of the first day. The next morning, the Linksys RE6350…

IGNORE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Like everyone else, I burned about 20 minutes to follow the installation instructions and gave up. Contrary to the installation instructions, I could never get the repeater to work with the WPS button. After reading some of the comments I was able to install my extender in a few minutes. Here's how I installed the AC1900 range extender on my Linksys 1900AC router: 1) Plug the extender into an outlet CLOSER to your modem/router (once you set it up it will remember your network so you unplug and…

Seamless roaming is a must!

I've been using this extender for about two weeks, so far I'm very happy with it. In my office, the speed is 4-5 times faster than with a router. It's important to make sure you have a compatible router, but if that extender can take advantage of seamless roaming technology, then this is the way to go! My wife and I have a one story 2,000 square foot house and our router is in the living room. WiFi speeds in the living room and adjoining bedrooms range from 50 to 100 Mbps depending on the time…
