This is a sentence for my own use, not for leaks. Jiffy-Tite Tools

There are two common sets of tools for Jiffy-Tite connectors that have been rebranded by many companies. This phrase and narrow quarters (usually round) separate the instruments. Tight quarter tools are aluminum which is a problem as these fittings can be very tight and with a tight quarter tool I always feel like I'm going to break them if I squeeze them. They are made of steel and make for a much more positive turn off. I just did a turbo coolant install on a 2011 Powerstroke 6.7 and the…

The purchase was a waste of money

Because I replaced my gearbox. With colder lines, the line will not release even if you lock the spring clip latch and make a quarter turn. I ended up using a 90 degree pick and needle nose pliers and removed the clamp and the radiator lines came out easily. Yes, it took a little extra work and time to get the clamps back into place, but this method worked best and I'm a retired mechanic who's been doing this job for 41 years.

Works when there is no corrosion

I was hoping this would work when removing my leaking transmission lines for my 2008 Jeep Liberty. Since my Jeep is 12 years old and the transmission lines are under the car and exposed to Michigan winters, the corrosion prevented the tool from fitting properly, making it unusable. I'm sure the tool would have worked if the lines were clean and free of corrosion. My recommendation would be to check the line connections and if they aren't clean enough it probably won't work. I am saving the tool

It does the job, but it's really difficult.

Works but difficult to hold. The gripping area is small and it's game over if liquid gets on it while running. Also, the tool won't get blocked around your pipe; If you don't keep it closed, it will open. This complicates installation and operation as you struggle with gravity, and can complicate low ride height situations where you're lucky enough to just place the tool on a hard line at first. I used it to disconnect the transmission cooler. Lines from the transmission cooler of a 2008 Jeep…
