Good Pliers: Hand Tools

I bought these to add to my toolbox when I need them and didn't have a pair. So I have not used this model/brand for duct work before. They look good, feel good and have a lock on the handle for storage. Looks like they will do the trick if I need another pair. The price was good so I went ahead and bought them.

  • Lots of Good Vibes

Designed for use in crimping tools

After buying a new hood I had to modify the vent above it by adding a 7" to 6" adapter and shortening the vent section. This tool did an excellent job of bending the steel so it could slide into another 6" vent section. It was easy to use but takes some time to fold it all the way around but worked out fine in the end. .

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Great buy for crimping machines

We had just bought a house and I knew there was going to be some duct work for the forced ventilation system as well as dryer ventilation. We bought a crimping tool a few weeks ago and used it for the first time today to crimp some pieces of hose for a dryer vent. The tool worked great, crimped easily and all of our parts fit together. I couldn't have asked for a simpler tool to accomplish this task. Excellent purchase.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Modern

Useful for pressure testing galvanized steel and aluminum air ducts!

I didn't have another crimping tool to compare but it came in really handy when working on the ducts in my old house and installing the dryer fan. Remember that side matters: the three-leaf outward side curves it in one direction, while the two-leaf outward side curves it in the opposite direction. So read the instructions when you get it and it will save your life. Sturdy and reliable quality I hope considering the price so I recommend it.

Pros
  • Handy item

It worked really well when I replaced and installed the aluminum gutter.

I didn't like anything but it was a bit difficult to curl due to my age and arthritis. I don't know exactly how many older people climb ladders and work on gutters, but maybe your engineering department? can change the pivot setting so that less force is required to crimp metals. Maybe make the handles a little longer or even adjust the jaws differently. Perhaps a hand grip test to determine how much strength the average elderly person needs to exert enough strength to do their job better. Many

Very happy with this tool; Made in the USA!

Can you love a crimping tool? Now that I've used this one, I have to say yes. I really didn't want to spend money on a tool just to insert one tube into another, so I tried crimping with ordinary pliers. After failing at this for about an hour, I ended up with a bent sheet metal guard that didn't YET fit into the feed pipe. So I broke down and bought this instrument. It really was more money than I wanted to spend, but it's premium quality, made in the USA (love the little window cut into the…
