Not enough string tension

This practice tool is okay for building calluses, and the chord chart seems okay. I just wish you could get more tension on the strings. The so called frets are not even close to the spacing on my guitar. Considering this item is one of the more expensive ones listed on Ebay, I was hoping for better quality. My G string snapped on it, so don't go crazy tightening the strings. If the allen heads on the string tensioners don't line up with the holes perfectly you're headed for disaster. The same…

Pros
  • Good for chord practice practice and finger calluses
Cons
  • I wish the instructions were more clear as far as programming practice chords

Nice tool for beginners to learn cords and finger placement

Nice tool for beginners to learn cords and finger placement as well as helping to build up calluses on fingertips. It takes a little while to learn how to setup manual cord arrangements, make sure to read the instructions. This is great for practicing/ training when you don't have your guitar with you. Please understand the sound is not going to be the same as a guitar and not meant for tuning. I think this was worth buying and will help me learn as a complete beginner.

Pros
  • 14 years and up
Cons
  • No funciona exactamente como la muestran en los videos, no la recomiendo.

Great Idea - Poor manufacturing

I ordered this product and received it quickly. The idea for this product is outstanding. The material that this is manufactured is worse than cheap plastic. It's comical. They could be so successful with a little more effort in product design and putting in better materials. It's really a shame. I'm returning this product because it does not meet expectations.

Pros
  • Ideal for beginners and advanced players alike
Cons
  • This device is for advanced users. The instructions are horrifically confusingTotal waste of money

Exceeded Expectations

This product made of nicely finished metal. The markings are not only painted but etched into the metal. It gets five stars because of how well it works. It has both standard and metric and is pretty easy to read for my older eyes. I would suggest this for hobbyist to professionals. If you work on guitars this helps setup go much faster.

Pros
  • The perfect gift for any aspiring musician
Cons
  • The product may be too loud or distracting in public spaces

Needs accurate sound

I think it could use more features. You should be able to accurately here what it sounds like. Good for learning the notes and chords, but note the sounds.

Pros
  • ♫ No Guitar-Playing Sound: This chords trainer has no guitar sound while playing, as it aims to improve finger's sensitivity without the environmental restrictions. No sound, Allows you to practice anywhere: cars, airplanes, the office, school, dinner table.
Cons
  • Directions are terrible.

This is a handy little gadget but, at the tighter resolutions, the quality control shows issues. For example, on the .010" string height gauge your machining and printing have to be spot-on perfect. Mine cuts almost all of it off, meaning their process is nearly .010" out of true. I can work around it by treating .020" as .010" and adjusting all the other measurements accordingly but, for a tool that's intended for these tight tolerances, their manufacturing is rather sloppy…

Pros
  • A practical tool for impromptu jam sessions
Cons
  • The battery life may not be long enough for extended use

action guage for my opinion

very inexpensive and does what it is suppose to do. the guage has many measurement modalities so if one does not do it for you another one will.note: i just received a question about the product name. amazon lists it estone. on the product the product name is baroque. go figure?

Pros
  • Compatible with all types of guitars, including acoustic and electric
Cons
  • The product may not be compatible with all types of guitars

Great Tool best in my review

This is a great tool to check you guitar setup easy to read and use. My only issue is that it has a jagged edge to it, might be able to sand them a little to smooth out the edge. But I would buy again

Pros
  • Toys & Games
Cons
  • Right handed when I asked for left hand can’t figure out how to tune or switch around strings not happy

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Sort of dissapoointed

Not clear enough directions and it doesnt make any sound so I cant hear if I'm playing the correct note! That's my review.

Pros
  • A must-have for anyone who wants to improve their guitar playing skills
Cons
  • The product may not improve your guitar playing skills as much as other practice methods

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Only basic chords are provided.

Ok for beginners probabably but if you already know all the basic chords it may not be useful. For some reason, I though it was made of wood - NOT - It's plastic so it feels light and cheapy. The strings are tunable sort of. I was afraid to tighten them to standard tyuning for fear of breaking somethig inside made of plastic. I returned mine for a fefund because it wasn't any help to me.

Pros
  • Convenient for casual or serious guitar players
Cons
  • The product may not be intuitive enough for beginners

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Sturdy and accurate measurement.

The only issue I have is the two week plus e-shipment from China. As long as you are willing to wait for the product it is worth the price. It is stainless steel and as advertised.

Pros
  • Great for practicing chords in a variety of positions
Cons
  • Bad quality, not useful

somewhat happy - my new review

I was excited that my item arrived so quickly but disappointed because some of the items like the battery and the wrench were missing.

Pros
  • Less intimidating than traditional guitar chord charts
Cons
  • The device may not come with adequate instructions for use

Revainrating 3 out of 5

doesn’t work for its purpose

arrived on time.but this gadget is hard to play without slipping, the idea for practice is smart but functionality is not there, that's why it's going back.

Pros
  • ♫ Lightweight & Pocket Size: could be put in pocket or bag(includes a black easy carry bag), You can take this chord to practice it wherever you want, it is not as bulky as a guitar. Battery CR2032 is included in package.
Cons
  • It didn’t ship with instructions or a turning too- so it’s disappointing

I bought this to practice

I was unaware it didn't make noise, so I'm not that happy with it. I'd like it more if it made the music notes but I guess you get what you pay for. Nowhere did it state in the product name that it doesn't play the notes you are holding if I'd seen that I wouldn't have bought it.

Pros
  • A valuable addition to any guitarist's collection of tools and resources
Cons
  • It may require too much manual adjustment to use properly

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Cheap low quality. on my review.

It doesn’t help train you at all. It just shows cords but I don’t know if I’m putting my fingers on the right strings. And the strings are not steel. It doesn’t tell you if you are placing fingers correctly. I will b returning it.

Pros
  • ♫ Built in Metronome: With a built-in metronome, players can learn the chords with a customized tempo. It's a quiet practice tool without guitar playing sound, so you can't tune or strum it like a real guitar.
Cons
  • Instructions is not good need more can't hear it at all very poor

Revainrating 2 out of 5

not what I expected

Hard to use a ruler is works better. The depth scale is no more than black paint, photo is on black background. I thought the gauge had cut outs for depth.

Pros
  • Helps you develop your own unique style and sound
Cons
  • It may not be durable enough for frequent use

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product! in my review

This is an amazing tool for those who are busy and can't take their guitar to work. Download a metronome app in your phone and use this to change chord progressions on the beat of the metronome! Work the scales (Shape 1 at least, not enough room for more). And it's silent and will not bother anyone at work. I don't use the digital screen since I don't need to learn the chord shapes. I just need accuracy, more finger dexterity, speed and practice

Pros
  • The rotatable chords chart screen allows for easy navigation
Cons
  • It's ok.

Not worth your time or money. So bad I threw it away.

Got this as a birthday gift for a young beginner, but threw it away and bought something else. Can not recommend. Doesn’t perform the way they represent; very disappointing. Cheap, ugly packaging, ridiculously bad and inadequate instructions. Avoid.

Pros
  • Guitars & Strings
Cons
  • Made for small hands and fingers. Frets are to low and you can not tune it not to sound tinny.

I bought this so I can still keep my fingers going and calluses built up while I don’t have my guitars with me. This product isn’t made to produce sound, nor is it made to be tuned to standard tuning. The Allen wrench is merely to tighten the strings again the fret board. It does show the chords accurately from major to minor, sus, aug, dim and 7,9 etc. It’s only function really it to be able to have something to put your fingers on for memory. I will try a couple more days and use the…

Pros
  • Provides a hands-on, interactive approach to learning guitar
Cons
  • The sound quality may not be as good as other practice tools
