This shelf is NOT suitable for bath towels. It fits in hand towels and small hand towels that can be used as bat mats just to get out of the shower! I have regular size bath towels, not long beach towels. You definitely won't hang on the front or middle bar. They hang directly from a metal basket on the back bar. First of all, the two shelves I put together look nice and there is enough space to hang a set of towels in the guest bedroom instead of my small bathroom. Perfect. What worked for me: 1. Unscrew the plugs from each of the three rods.2. On one of the frames, insert each of the three rods into the socket and hold them in place by screwing the end cap onto the outside of the frame (one at a time). **Note: Leave the end cap loose as the fit will need to be adjusted before fully tightening. ** **Tip: Retighten the stopper until it clicks into place, then turn the stopper clockwise to tighten.
