Melissa Doug Deluxe Wooden Puzzle Review

I would give this a zero star rating if I could. It was destroyed the first day we had it. The son put it in his mouth and it all came off almost immediately! He ate the cheap stuff it was made of. I was so upset because it's not a cheap product but I paid because it was Melissa and Doug and I trust this brand! No longer! It has to be taken off the market. It is dangerous for children! The photo below was taken less than 10 minutes after opening.

In less than a week the child learned how to use the board and change parts. My baby is almost 1 year old so it's great for early learning. You can also tell them the word for shape or color as they play. Large handles are ideal for little hands that are still working on fine motor skills. She can just pick it up and play and learn without getting frustrated or abandoning it because she's having a hard time picking it up.

I was really excited about this product at first because my 2 year old saw it in the box and wanted me to open it right away for them to play with be able. it's because they have another M&D puzzle. This is a great first puzzle for toddlers who are just starting to get interested in puzzles. My toddler (now 18 months old) has been playing with this puzzle since he was about a year old and he loves it every time I take it off the shelf. He loves to show me a piece and ask me to name its shape before he puts it in the hole. My trust in Melissa and Doug is undermined! In my opinion this puzzle is NOT solid, durable or a gift. I don't usually write reviews because I just don't have the time, but I think I should warn other parents about this so they don't make the same mistake I did.
