Don't buy, not sure.

I've always liked Melissa and Doug's products so I'm shocked at the quality of this puzzle, the wood is so poor that the colors of the animals seem like paper The sticker has no real color , once the child puts it in the mouth, it melts immediately. Too bad I didn't read the reviews before buying. Also, the board itself is too heavy and could injure a child's legs if it falls while being carried. And there is a large advertising sticker on the back, which does not peel off well.

Pros
  • Consistent test results

  • Some cons

These puzzles are among my favorites!

We had one at the nursery where I worked. Decided to buy one for my little one. In kindergarten we either dipped it in soapy water or sprayed it and wiped it off. You still looked good. Despite being wooden, you could see the water damage, but they still looked pretty good. After receiving mine and using the puzzle a few times, I noticed that it doesn't last that long. It hasn't been in contact with water so I hope it lasts longer.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Upgradable

Great first puzzle for my 15 month old baby

Bought for my baby's first birthday. At 12 months he didn't like it very much and took out the pieces and then moved on to another toy. But now, at 15 months old, he's also trying to put the pieces of the puzzle back together, showing us the pieces and making dog/cat/bird noises! Not the most popular toy but takes a few minutes. Overall I think this is a good first puzzle for a 12-15 month old group, it's solid and I will be buying more puzzles from Melissa & Doug in the future.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Not bad

. When I opened the plastic it had the most disgusting fishy smell

I ordered this puzzle for my 1 year old but when I opened the plastic wrap it had the most disgusting fishy smell. I tried cleaning and airing it out but decided to throw it out because the smell hadn't gone away. I also don't want anything that smells like that next to my 1 year old who puts everything in his mouth. Also, the images aren't painted on wood like many other Melissa & Doug puzzles, so the images peeled off immediately. VERY disappointed in this purchase and would not recommend.

Pros
  • Annual trial period
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Great puzzle on jigsaw puzzles

Got this for my first birthday aged 16 months. He is obsessed with cats and loved them from the start. He starts putting the pieces in the right places and names all the animals here (and also points to most of the shapes in our other puzzle). Yes they are big and it can be difficult to queue for the little guys to get in. So far, however, they have survived throwing, knocking, and infancy. My little friend didn't actually put them in his mouth. The edges fray, but he throws and knocks with…

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • I won't say anything

We were very disappointed that it was mainly made out of some kind of MDF or chipboard. This is not solid wood. It is made of paper pulp or thin wood fibers pressed together and held together with glue. It quickly began to crumble in our little one's mouth as she chewed on the puzzle pieces along with the paint above. The pulp and the glue they use may not be good for the baby. I am very surprised that Melissa and Doug used this material to make a jigsaw puzzle for 12 month old babies. Babies…
