Reliable and dependable Does exactly what it's supposed to do

I've had other Morningstar charge controllers before, all well designed and reliable. This device is used as a portable solar charging system for amateur radio work.

Pros
  • Generators and Portable Power Supplies
Cons
  • Hard to say

Five stars in generators and portable power supplies

Great little device. It's easy to install, the instructions are clear, and it's completely weatherproof. Much better than some others out there. A bit pricey but I would buy it again

Pros
  • Full protection against reverse polarity, short circuit, over current, lightning and transient over voltage, high temperature and reverse current at night
Cons
  • Write later

But works great. suitable for solar and wind power

Works great but be careful with the threaded end - DO NOT try to over tighten as this can break the threads - mine broke after using them a bit dressed, but it didn't interfere with the work. I've been using it for a while to charge a small car battery in our chicken coop so the door opens automatically. It's pretty small and just serves its purpose.

Pros
  • Epoxy Capsule for outdoor use
Cons
  • No power

After lots and lots of research I finally got the SK6. Of several charge controllers that advertise dark current (battery operated at night with no solar power), this was the lowest I could find. I wasn't sure how well this charge controller would work with a generator on a truck. The answer is that it works fine. He has…

Pros
  • Rated at 70C.
Cons
  • Long delivery time
