Enhanced Motorcraft YH1624 Damper Door Switch for Improved Performance Review

This was used to replace a faulty throttle switch on a 2005 Ford Focus ZX4. I followed a youtube video showing how to replace it. Aside from the cramped quarters I had to work in, the swap was easy to do. The next project is to cut open the heater box and remove the melted foam that is causing the damper door to stick and the cable to break. In the meantime, I turn up the heat until the foam melts and the valve flap moves freely.

It was really easy to replace and there are loads of good videos on YouTube if you need it. However, after I replaced the cable and reinstalled everything, the controller was still stuck (to the heated windshield in my case). If so, don't force it, it will break again (just look at some 1 star reviews lol). I only helped that this controller is connected to a good tug and that freed it and now it works great. I'm guessing you're here because your cable snapped due to a stuck vent door. It appears that Ford used a rubber seal around the door that dissolves into a goo, keeping the door closed. This part is easy to replace. You need to remove the center panel around the radio - leave the radio. Also remove the panel under the steering wheel - 4 screws. That's all. The dashboard part comes out by loosening a screw and disconnecting the wiring harness. Then rotate it. That's all. Then go to the other end
