The system hung when I connected SATA.

Running Windows 10 64 latest build. I was only able to connect the USB 3.0 port because in my case the USB 2.0 and SATA cables were not long enough to reach the port. Also of note is that it is powered via a Molex connector instead of a SATA power connector. USB 3.0 seemed to work well with SD and MicroSD cards attached. Then I wanted to turn off my computer and it just froze. I had to prompt CMD that it's a shutdown. Even after that it took forever to turn off. I thought "maybe it's just an…

USB 3.0 is not working for me

I don't know how to fully rate this product mainly because I don't have the time and energy to properly troubleshoot this issue. The item itself looks good enough. plug everything in, my pc sent an email, restart the emergency loop. Is it because of this hardware or because of my computer? I narrowed the problem down to USB 3.0. When I connect this card reader, my system crashes. My computer has a USB 3.0 port. Is this a problem with my card reader motherboard? I don't know and I don't have…

The port broke in less than a year.

So here are a few points. First, a USB port just for charging isn't worth it. It's barely faster than using any of the other ports and doesn't charge really quickly like you might expect. Plugging into an outlet with a less-than-perfect cable is a mile faster, and even the simple connectors my computer case came with can handle it quicker. Second, some of the ports are now less functional or just don't work. not working after less than a year of what I would call light use. One of them is…

Non-standard CF card contacts, otherwise seem to work

Works out of the box. Tried with SD, Micro SD and Compact Flash, works fine with SD and Micro SD, but the pins on the Compact Flash connector are not hardened like in the good old days. Although I inserted the CompactFlash card very carefully, the contacts in the card reader were SO SOFT that, despite careful processing, they immediately bent. Finally, after aligning the contacts (twice) under a magnifying glass, I finally managed to insert and read the CF card. I would normally return and send

This unit replaces one of the ubiquitous '5.25' Media Dashboard' multifunction front panel units that I think I have installed assembled computer. After only 1.5 years, the SD card stopped working and the USB ports never worked. Since day one, this device has received a Windows warning that the USB host is incompatible and requires a driver update, which never happened. So when I couldn't load photos from my DSLR's SD card this week, it's time to get a new card reader. I've looked at Revain and

Features a true USB 2.0 pass-through port (no internal hub)!

This is a pretty good multifunction box that fits in an empty 5.25" drive bay. It has two cables to connect to the USB 2.0 ports on the motherboard and runs them straight to the four USB 2.0 ports. which means they don't require a hub or driver, which was a big plus for me and is the reason I bought this thing. It also has a USB 3.0 cable split into two parts, one of which connects to the USB 3.0 port. as usual and the other one is used internally for the card reader. Before you install the…
