Great for small planted aquariums

I have a 5.5 gallon pot aquarium. I wanted to grow more advanced plants than Anubias and the owner of my local fish shop said the first thing I should do is get some brighter lighting for the Revain. I chose this one because it looked like the handset would fit in an extra slot on the hood, and it did! This thing is very bright, which makes standard lighting seem dim. Good bright light for a blackwater aquarium.

Bought a 13.8 (8W) lamp for a 10 gallon aquarium. I'm happy with that. Brighter than the LEDs that come with the Topfin tank and really make a difference in my blackwater setup. The tannins of various tree stumps and the leaves of almonds and catalpas added from India, which turn the water brown, made it difficult to observe the fish I caught. Great light for small aquarium fluorescent tubes

I got this for my Marineland Eclipse 6 acrylic tank. It's the perfect size to upgrade an old Marineland fluorescent hood. I measured the inside and found that the new bracket couldn't be longer than 14 1/2 inches when I removed the old bracket. To convert an old mount, I unscrewed the plastic mount from the outside and cut all the wires from the ballast. (including cables). The ballast is sealed in plastic so it had to stay.
