Type of review

I shot it with my D600, and it looks amazing across the board and in all but the telephoto range. Best value for the money, I typically shoot at 18mm and 35mm f5.6 - f8, making it ideal for travel. 1) 18-35 D is an expensive range for a technologically dated soap. 2) 16-35/4 G - the angles are slightly worse from 16mm to 28mm! Better, weather-proof, and VR (virtual reality), but double the price? Thirdly, the Tokina 17-35/4 (chromite 17-35/2.8D) is roughly 2.5 times more expensive and produces…

Pros
  • Price/Sharpness! Easily carried! tasty samples
Cons
  • Slightly less sharpness at 35mm, no protection from dust and moisture

Expectations were not met, average quality.

I originally took this miracle for landscapes, architecture, for the most part, The zoom ring did not force, as is usually the case in gles such as 24-70, 24-120 I often twist it by 18 according to the sensations, not completely, but it was deformed (or rather, an elastic band), With dimmed illumination, autofocus freezes between 1 Again, and there is enough light to focus (for example, fifty kopecks, he is a as accurate as a Mosin rifle, although he sometimes misses) By the way, junction of…

Pros
  • As already mentioned, as well as the absence of moving parts (such as a retractable trunk) he' I don’t even want to fasten and wind the polarik.
Cons
  • Build quality (the rubber of the zoom ring came off) I actively considered 28mm f1.8G, but on the advice of friends, I took 18-35 As I wrote further with a focus on infinity, this topic is being treated.

I do not cease to rejoice at the purchase, a very good deal!

After buying the D600, but then somehow I couldn’ in addition to 28-300VR (by the way, I’m also very pleased), since the 28 14-24 2.8 has disappeared, as too heavy and sharpened for a specific task, + do not put on filters, Tokina also disappeared 16-28 2.8 you can't argue against physics, and for a hole 2.8 wide, you mostly shoot in good light, with the possible exception of indoors, but there the high working ISOs on the D600 1) Good old Nikkor 20mm 2.8 (screwdriver) 2) Nikkor 16-35VR f4…

Pros
  • sharpness across the field at all f and excellent color reproduction, silent and nimble autofocus, low weight, 77m filter thread, moderate price per width, lens hood does not cover the zoom ring in the stowed position
Cons
  • I have not found it yet, not 2.8 and no VR, but the weight and price.

I recommend to buy, the product is of high quality.

I took this glass on vacation as a walker for shooting ancient bricks. In general, it’s quite good, but after a trip in an open jeep along serpentines, and filming on the go, I caught dust on the coast (where did it come from?) As for reviews like - sharp on fsekh apertures and focal - complete nonsense, it doesn’t happen like that, everything is like everyone else, across the field from 5.6, diffraction after 8.

Pros
  • Light
Cons
  • dust gets inside.

I definitely recommend buying, I didnt notice any disadvantages.

Great lightweight super wide for a reasonable price. It has a razor-sharp pattern at all apertures and surprisingly pleasant bokeh. Distortions do not differ much from the older model in the face of 16-35 / 4 VR and are easily corrected either by in-camera algorithms or in the post-processing process. For low weight, you have to pay with plastic in the construct. Autofocus is not too quick compared to lenses of a class above, but it is almost inaudible.

Pros
  • Low weight Excellent sharpness throughout the frame Nice drawing in the blur zone
Cons
  • Not very fast autofocus

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

Whoever chose a width for Nikon knows that this is not an easy task. I chose the width on the D800 for a long time, after countless test shots I took 18-35. Compared with 28, 16-35 and 14-24. 16-35 fell away, in general, by itself, and in general the hysteria about him is completely incomprehensible to me. The lens suffers from low resolution not only in the corners of the frame, but also just around the edges (especially at 35mm and low apertures). 2mm width is of course an argument, but for…

Pros
  • High resolution in the vast majority of modes. Lightweight, compact.
Cons
  • No VR

A good product, more pros than cons.

I liked the glass on the d800, excellent in the center, sharpness, not very sharp on the target, due to the significant curvature of the depth of field, sharpness generally drops to 35 mm. If you shoot at 5.6 - 8, then everything will be fine. HA small. Many say that the AF speed is not super fast, but it is sufficient and does not cause inconvenience even on dynamic subjects, in any case it is faster than at 50 / 1.4G.

Pros
  • Lightweight, not expensive, decent sharpness, the pattern does not hurt the eyes in both senses
Cons
  • plastic, sharpness at the edges at an open aperture is far from ideal
