36 watt 6.5 inch water hoses: work well. In fact, I prefer 18-watt 4-inch fill sheets better. These 6.5" rods have a fairly slight 'halo' that the 18w 4" rods don't have, the smaller ones distribute a more even flow. but these 36W are a bit brighter. One month update: Short version: Good news: They have been abused but they still work and appear strong enough to last the distance. The bad news: they are absolutely, definitely NOT waterproof.
