Description of Counter 🌳 Snap OBerry Wood Flooring

This kit contains qty 50 screws are for stopping squeaks between or on the joist. Plus one driver bit and easy to follow instructions. Using this kit stops the movement of floor boards and squeaks. The screw is scored so when driven through the fixture it snaps 1/4" below the top of the hardwood. The small hole then can be filled with a wood filler to conceal the screw.

Works very well! I'm glad I decided to try them out.

I've installed about a dozen of these so far and they do a really good job on the squeak, or at least reduce it to very little. I was very annoyed by several spots in our kitchen that creaked very loudly. It only took about half an hour for them both to settle down A LOT to the point where even I was satisfied. We're in the process of renovating our floors, so I'll probably lay a few more elsewhere before they're sanded and polished. The only thing I noticed is a couple of screws in the holes…

Smart idea but it just didn't work for me

This product is a smart idea. In my case it didn't reduce the squeaking in my floor. I have a #2 maple floor with a 3/4" OSB subfloor. The maple floor is loose in several places. I can stand on two adjacent boards and feel them move relative to each other as they squeak. I went under the dirt and saw my sub floor is glued to the floor joists. I don't think my creaking is from the sub floor, I think it's from the loose floor. I read the instructions and went to work. I have a few Tried screws in

  • Easy to use

  • Nothing here

Sometimes it works. Sometimes nothing does

So far my husband has drilled 10 screws. Of the ten, 6 did what they were supposed to do: they broke normally and eliminated the creaking. The other 4 either didn't break like they were supposed to or didn't fix the creaking. We found that you MUST drill a screw into a joist under the floor and if there is a crack in the floor where the squeaking is you have to have someone stand as close as possible to push the floor in while you drive the screw turn in . If the screw is not broken, you will…

Worth a try but difficult to use effectively

I have an old house with lots of creaky floors, 6-15 per room, 8 rooms plus hallways. I bought 100 screws to see if they would be an effective solution. I tested in a room with 4 squeak zones. Per squeak, 6 to 25 screws were required to reduce or eliminate the squeak, for a total of 50 screws used in the space. With 50 screws per room, a pair of boxes of 250 pieces. would be worth the cost. Each time I snapped the screw, the ring tore a large hole in the wood just above the snap point. In some…

It really works! Best Screws

Oh yes, that's five stars. in front of the sink. Then it dried and after that (standard, red oak, tongue and groove) the floor creaked horribly and drove me crazy every time I used the sink. I tried talcum powder, an idea found online and it helped only minimally. Then I called the local flooring company and they recommended it, in theory I had nothing to lose with the floor being removed anyway if I tried 50 screws. You will need your own 1/8" bit, the "long" version is at least 3" (2-1/2" for

Pros
  • The screw is knurled so it will snap 1/4 inch below the top of the hardwood when driven into the bracket.
Cons

Our house is old. I mean 160 years old. Due to the displacement and age of the house/floors, there were some areas of the original hardwood floors that were almost very noisy upon entering. The most annoying of them was at the doorstep of our kitchen and living room. Sometime in the last century someone finished the base and used concrete slabs on the ceiling. the attempt to eliminate the squeaking noises from below failed. I was nervous about this product because that creaking is a VERY…
