Worked as intended in Tools & Equipment

They worked great to compress the front coil springs on my 2002 Ford Ranger 2WD. I highly recommend if you plan to remove the lower wishbones.

Worth every $$$ best hanging tool

So far this tool is amazing. Tool Service has it and it should. This is again a great investment with several fords in my queue.

Looks sturdy so won't work for all applications

This appears to be a good quality coil spring compressor for the price. It is actually too heavy for some applications as the threaded block was too big to fit through the hole in the lower arm. (2-3/8" x 1-1/4") I love how the hooks are offset and angled. All in all I'll leave it anyway, but be aware it may not work for you. (The car it didn't work on was a 1968 Camaro with the stock lower control arms)

Works great for 2004 Sianna rear springs

This works great with a 2004 Sianna rear spring. What you do is take the tool apart, then reassemble it in the old spring, then compress the spring and take it out of the car. No other tool lets you do this. All other tools hit the top of the body. But this tool is in the pen, which gives you a lot more space. Find the tool number on YouTube and you will see people using it. (I've posted some photos of other tools removing the spring but not installing it.)

Powered by Heavy Springs

I bought this because it fits inside the spring, not outside. I don't have a lot of room to fit a spring in my truck. I was also concerned that it might break on first use because I had read many other reviews of similar products where the screw threads were striped or claws grabbing the spring break. I was afraid that if it breaks I might get seriously hurt. I saw another reviewer's photo and turns out he used it for a quill as heavy as mine. My spring is 15" long, has 9 coils, and the coil is

Best Used Coil Spring Compressor

This spring compressor is very easy to use. The fork simply slides between the coils and the bearing seat that holds the center of the spring. Located on a threaded shaft, the bearing greatly reduces the friction and torque required to compress the springs. One caveat: Make sure the surface of the coil is free of coolant and oil, including penetrating liquids. I discovered this when the coil of the spring slipped about 4 inches, resulting in a rapid release of energy. I cleaned the penetrating…
