Good cheap pliers

Not the best quality but they worked great on my '96 Camry rear brake springs. Can't beat the price, made the job a lot easier these springs are strong.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not automatic

Not for trucks

This may be a great tool but when it was first used on a diesel brake kit it warped and wouldn't budge. I'm sure if you made drum brakes for small cars they would work great, not big things.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Almost never

Best Spring Tool

Best Spring Tool. It might be possible to use a "flatter" point to avoid digging in, but using a small block of wood will prevent you from digging into the drum brake itself or other components.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • No

Tip broke after being dropped.

I never got the chance to use it as I accidentally dropped it and the tip broke before I even used it. Apparently the metal is a "pot metal" composition, or so it appears, and lacks any durability to speak of. I do not recommend.

Pros
  • Sturdy design
