Hole saws or hole saws are used to drill large diameter holes in relatively soft materials such as wood, plastic, plywood, drywall and the like. Most often they are sold in sets, which include a holder with a pilot drill and a set of interchangeable crowns. In the photo below, the holder itself. On the one hand, a guide drill is inserted into it, on it there is a flat for fastening with a screw with a hexagon head, on the other hand, a nut is screwed onto the holder, clamping the crown. The…

Pros
  • Good equipment.
Cons
  • Disgusting quality.

cheap. You get what you pay for

The saw couldn't finish the first hole without becoming too dull to cut and it was soft white pine. I tried a second saw, the center drill broke off and became unusable

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

Works well in plastic

Bought to drill a hole in the top of my kayak to fit a rod holder. Worked great on 1/4" plastic. There were slightly cheaper options but this one had more blades, especially larger blades which I may need in the future.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • So far so good

Works, good price, plaster, slats and thin wood are ok.

We have used these putties very well on wood paneling, drywall and batten ceilings. However, when I used it on my built-in hardwood arrow body, the bit broke. Can't say it's not my fault, I may have twisted it while drilling. But anyway, I need another central Bill Chuck right now.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Some cons

You get what you pay for

I bought this kit because I needed a 5 inch saw to cut holes in the Rubbermaid pusher to clear the dryer vent to lead to the ceiling. After two cuts with a drill half the blades were gone, great value for money, I just didn't expect them to last long when cutting tougher materials. I will say I used the smaller piece to cut through the plastic and it worked great. However, one of the starter attachments is ripped off with Alan's wrench and easily falls out.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Negative result available

What a "Buzz " Kill (Got it?) - No mounting holes = product

Not a COMPLETE BUZZKILL (HA! There are two!) But seriously, this product was incomplete . like in. NONE OF MY DISC BLADES HAVE HOLES FOR SET PLATES TO GO INTO THE LOCK. .Zero. No one. Nada. What can I do. use superglue? hitting wood? total noise killer (YESSSSSSSS 0 out of 3!) for me today and you all might want to hire a quality control person. or you'll all "SCREW" customers (doesn't that count? I'll say half a point.) Seriously, can you email me something useful?

Pros
  • can't be used Multiple competitors
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Great for carpentry and drywall work

I used these saws to cut just the right inlet and outlet holes in the back of a new vanity and it worked really well . Some reviewers complain that they broke the guide attachment in the middle of the hole saw, but that's what it is: a "guide". Pre-drilling a 1/4 inch diameter hole in the center of your circle will not put any stress on the pilot drill and will only keep the hole centered. That's what it's for. Another reason to pre-drill the center hole is that you can be very precise when…

Perfect for plastic!

These are not the hole saws you expect. They are not true at all. BUT! They're cheap and I wasn't trying to spend a fortune on plastic. They have an aggressive bit and cut thin plastic perfectly in reverse. I use them to make holes in my mesh cup hydroponic buckets. To be honest I wouldn't use them on anything but plastic. It looks like they used mild steel for this product and I have a feeling you'll bend or break something if you try to go through hard wood or metal. When cutting through…
