EVERY DISC ON THIS SPINDLE WAS BAD. EVERY

It's very, very rare that a product gets bombed - for whatever reason. For me the 1 star route means something went wrong. Should have listened to other reviews. Don't overdo it. This product line should be recalled and destroyed. EVERY DISC ON THIS SPINDLE WAS BAD. SINGLE. DISC. What does that say about Philips quality control? The worst was also the scariest - every time I put a piece of shit like that in my car, I could hear the drivetrain working *really hard*; hear all kinds of noises I've

with fewer than 5 that were bad. This year

I have to agree with our customers. I've ordered about 400 of these in the past and less than 5 of them have failed. This year I lost 65% of these discs in my 1st batch. I thought it was a factory error. I ordered another one hoping this product would be better. Of the four used discs, I found 3 bad ones. I think Phillip should have shipped the production there to China. It seems obvious that when they can't make a basic blank I hate to think about what the rest of their product line is. All I…

I haven't had any problems with them.

Discs arrived on time, good packaging, first disc released worked fine. I will make an additional report if I encounter any problems with the drives. Judging by their looks I would be very surprised if there was something wrong with them. As a test, I copied this first CD with Nero; and I reproduced it on another computer. People talk about DVD brands and say that an expensive brand is better than a cheaper one. Well I use a lot of these and the brands don't give a good impression of the…

Poor success rate on these DVDs DL

I bought these DL DVDs last spring and finally used them. I have used other Philips products in the past and have found them to be quite good. However, I found an exception. So far I've used about 5 discs. It seems to be taking well. At some point, 4 out of 5 discs will experience severe glitches. If I replace another brand, the record is ok. I will continue to use them and hope for a higher percentage of good records and use others as needed. In any case, I will no longer buy Philips DL DVDs.

Terrible quality, don't trust

. I bought them because of the average price and the big brand. Now I regret my decision. About half of them failed mid-write, and now about a third gives me CRC errors when trying to copy data. This data is essential and now I'm not sure what I'm going to do. The finish is pathetic because just putting them in the tray scratches your face. Don't buy them, either buy cheaper drives if you don't care about data, or buy quality drives if you need reliability.

Good Price - DVD+R Discs

Bought for $27 which was only a dollar or two more for a well known brand than my other options. You have nothing special; just a normal spindle of 50 disks. I didn't find a single bad disk in the top 15 or so, although one of my burners failed to close the session, effectively rendering the disk unreadable. I've never had problems reading/writing on single layer discs with this burner, but since I was able to reproduce the problem on another disc with the same data, my non-professional guess…

Good budget double layer blanks DVD +R

I've been using them for a while now. I haven't had a single error burning these discs. I use the 3rd spindle. For those who had problems, please note that this is a DVD+R, not a DVD-R. They are not the same, they are two different standards. Most of the new DVD drives that burn support both standards for blank media, as does mine. However, some older discs have either -R or +R and will not write to the wrong media. Based on the fact that I haven't had a single failure and some have claimed to…

At least not reliably. Give them a star (or zero).

I also agree with other reviewers. I was an avid fan of Philips DVDs until I bought the last batch of three spindles. Half of them can't complete the recording, and most of them make several of my DVD players grunt, crackle, and click when trying to find a title I don't recognize. I've tried everything: different burners, restarting the system before each burning. It became pretty clear to me that Philips had gone from being a reliable manufacturer to a manufacturer that turned out to be junk…

Great results so far!

(update added 09/07/2009) Previously, burning DVD-DL at 1x to 4x resulted in one (1) error in 35 cases (less than 3%) when using the Samsung SH-S203N SATA device . I will definitely buy this product again. Much luck! Hello everyone! We bought a 50 piece spindle for $39.99 plus shipping (90 cents each). We're using a freshly installed Samsung SATA SH-S203N DVD+-RW/RAM (updated to SB02 firmware). Our proven RecordNow! by Sonic (v6.5.1) does not recognize the dual-layer capability of the DVD…
