excellent material for paint and primer

I used this color to paint my intrepid V6. Works great, beautiful color! I would like to post a picture but it doesn't work :(

Pros
  • delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Modern

Nice upgrade for engine

Used this on the valve covers on my 1970 Deville with a 472 V8. The color matched the original well considering the original paint on the intake manifold and block is 50 years old and faded.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Minor Items

fantastic sofa color!

Applying this material is easy for even the most clumsy artist. ). It's great for something that's front and center, under the engine bay, etc. Provided it can take this heat!

Cons
  • Very Expensive

Very poor paint and primer coverage

I used this on my last LSx build. Tried applying LS to an iron block and it was well set up. The iron has seeped through the paint and will require multiple coats. I ended up spraying the block but it was IMPOSSIBLE to remove it. It looks great with enough coats. However, does not apply as stated, expect multiple layers instead of 1 or 2.

Pros
  • Freehand
Cons
  • No instructions

Looks great and lasts a long time

The paint can be applied in many ways. I chose the brush by the method. I painted the intake manifold at home and the block/head while the engine was still in the car. The paint lays down thick and self-leveling. I was concerned about seeing brush strokes, but the paint smoothed out as it cured. When I painted the block and heads I had to use a separate paint cup so I could cut the paint a little thinner because the outside temperature was around 60Β° and it was THICK. I have about 3/4 of a can…

Shiny but finicky Good for paints and primers

I chose to apply this with a brush although I had trouble with brush marks. In this case, however, the paint was great - it has a fairly high viscosity and mattifies very well, forming a nice thick layer. The color almost matches the engine paint I got on my Mini in England - I need to see it age to match. I had problems with sensitivity to solvents. I expect it to be solvent resistant for an engine paint, including a quick wipe down to remove grease (I could even live with matting the finish…

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Big and bulky

I have used this product on several occasions on engine components for several classic 1950's Cadillacs. It is suitable for valve covers, blocks, intake valves, water pumps, etc. You can apply it with a brush or spray. I usually spray. When you spray it you can reduce it if you like but there is no need to reduce it much, something like 4 parts paint to 1 part thinner will give you the best flow and still give good coverage with no drips. This paint is long lasting, you can paint the hardware…
