Loud, but not for large rooms

Noise level acceptable for a plug-in, but perhaps not so obnoxious as to really scare off intruders unless the room is small.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Protection

Works but not as expected

Nice and loud. Easy to set up. For some reason, this siren sounds when the alarm unit emits a sound like a confirmation tone. Very annoying.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Loud and reliable on horns and sirens

I have two of these. They're very loud and thankfully never "stuttered" (on or off) like some X-10 hardware can. One is in a detached garage a fair distance from the alarm panel it signals and is still working properly. The one in the garage is also easily exposed to the Canadian winter temperatures.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Quality

Good but definitely limited.

well it works, yes it's quite noisy but: there is a 5 second delay when the alarm goes off, it's not instantaneous. While not particularly important, it's a little annoying if you don't know it's happening when you test it. Placement: For some reason the horn will not work if it is more than about ten feet away from the base's actual alarm system. I don't know if this is due to the base station using a radio frequency to mute the audio signal or if it is a signal sent down the ground wire ofโ€ฆ

  • handy thing
