Good solid product

A pair of these held up a license plate on my trailer for 3,000 miles, even on crappy California roads. The streets around Los Angeles broke a weld on my trailer's fender, but the license plate didn't budge.

I use it for another purpose

I have no idea how they hold up in the car. I used them in my gun cabinet. I screwed them into the doors and use them to store magazines for various pistols. The magnetic pull is sufficient for this, and the rubber coating prevents magazines from being scratched.

  • Very good price

One of my favorite things about my car

The main reason I bought it was so I can take off the front license plate when taking a picture of my truck. It's a lot easier to just take off my license plate than to Photoshop it later! i love it so much! It is on the right in the picture and no plastic license plate frame is included!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

Rubber License Plate Holders are as described

Magnet/Rubber License Plate Holders are as described and would work fine except they don't fit my number plates; they are exactly two inches shorter. The holes in the license plate brackets are 7" on center and the holes in my license plates are 9" on center. See attached photo. I think I should return them; They would work well if the screw holes matched.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Not the best

Great unintentional use

My Toyota Sequoia only has 2 license plate holes at the top of the tailgate and no holes at the bottom. So, as I drove through an aggressive car wash, I grabbed my license plate by the bottom corner and leaned over at an angle. I bought a clear cover with rounded edges (to prevent the rotating brush from catching on anything), placed it on my license plate, and attached it to the underside of the license plate so it held magnetically to the back hatch. So far, so good!

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • poorly thought out

There aren't enough pure metals in today's cars to rely on.

Didn't trust. I put 2 on a plate. The problem is that many cars are cheaper these days. I don't think the trunks of many newer cars are bare metal thick enough to be effective. Every bump I hit, I would look in my rearview mirror and expect my license plate to bounce off the road. It was too easy to move once attached. These days it's less about being concerned with a product and more about assessing the quality of metals used in cars. Arrived on time, no problems with delivery. A plate in aโ€ฆ

Hold Tight Full Time

I purchased this magnetic license plate holder when I moved to Texas where a front license plate was required because I didn't want to drill the front bumper. Until the right step even at motorway speed. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the rubber strip was able to flex slightly to better wrap around the curve of my front bumper. I originally started with one rod and rode it for a week but was concerned it was too obvious it wasn't permanently fixed. It seemed to hold up well, but withโ€ฆ

Won't scratch car paint, but magnets aren't strong enough

California vehicles require both front and rear license plates. A thief tried to steal my front panel. I figured my front panel would be attached with a magnet while driving and I could just remove the panel when parking. Unfortunately these magnets are not N52 certified and cannot hold the plate in the steel frame. like my strong earth magnets! I securely attached a small flat steel bar to the front bumper and now it's enough to hold my plate! These magnets are rubberized to protect paintedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Has flaws

More work than expected.

The magnets are thin, that's good. Rubber is good too. The supplied equipment is a problem. The bolts were too long for the nuts. I spent some time trimming all the bolts and then threading them and nuts. Now they fit, but I had to put an extra washer under the acorn nut to get a secure fit. Hence a star for easy installation. The dealer gave me my money back so they are willing to fix it. Tip: If you order these, try the packaging on immediately. If you can't tighten the screws ask the sellerโ€ฆ
