Everyone should have an AC/DC inverter

This is the third inverter I have made bought for work and home. None of them broke. people take them. In fact, after a single use, this one disappeared when I left it in the car for maintenance. Pooh! Anyway, people like these things for free and I'm going to buy another one. They are useful for many devices that you plug into the wall of your home. We use it to charge our phones (the car's built-in one doesn't seem to work!), charge backup batteries, connect a laptop when the battery is low…

Pros
  • Two 110V outlets and an additional 12V outlet, USB connectivity and built-in iPod charging circuitry for maximum gaming and charging versatility
Cons
  • Reliability

Worked well for us but had limited use on our trip

We bought this years before our first trip from the Gulf Coast to the East Coast. It had pretty good reviews and a good price compared to others with similar or lesser features. The installation of a cup holder on the center console provides even more comfort. Since we have so many electronics, each with batteries that don't last all day, we thought we could use an inverter charger in addition to the carports, which only run on 12V DC. A carport is required but available so there is no…

Ideal inverter

I came from a Duracell inverter that had a long cord and looked like a stack of credit cards. I thought it was portable and easy to use. Before that I used a much larger inverter that stayed on the floor and looked like a little textbook. Much easier to have a drink holder. This thing fit in a 2012 cup holder without tipping over. It also easily fits in the MKV Jetta cup holder. None of the cars had blown fuses. I had my camcorder, Dell laptop, iPod and cell phone charger, and Garmin GPS…

Cool design and cheap

I've had it for 6 months now and it's fine. It works to power a laptop or charge camera batteries, but it doesn't do much more than that. The design is too heavy and if your cup holder doesn't fit perfectly, the inverter can tip over. Small plastic plugs are very cheap, have sharp edges, and don't fit well. Usually the lids stay open because they don't flex enough to stay in place or simply pop open from such a poor fit. The USB port cover came off and never fitted, even from day one. When…

I am very happy with this converter!

I debated for a long time whether I should buy this converter or a simpler one that is $10 cheaper. I ended up choosing this one and I'm very glad I did! The converter has a fan that's audible when the power plugs are in use (with the power button on), but to be honest, unless you drive a super-quiet BMW, Mercedes or Cadillac, you probably won't notice that fan not. If you have air conditioning and/or a radio, this will likely drown out the fan noise. Even if your car's cigarette lighter stays…

Bought for a trip from Germany to Florida

Great product, great quality and really works. My girlfriend and I were planning a trip to Florida from Delaware and we wanted somewhere to turn on some devices. We like to watch movies on our laptop while driving down the stairs (sorry there's no DVD player in the car. Not that trendy lol). When the laptop battery died we decided to plug this bad boy in and connect to his laptop for charging, I also used a car outlet for my radar detector which we then connected to an inverter. and also the…

Loved that thing! best in Power Inverters

I have waited for people many times. My old Dell laptop battery life is less than 45 minutes. In the past I had to look for a way to continue working after the end. Now I just connect to my machine and continue. That's great. As others have said, fan noise is present when using AC, but this is a minor downside (for me). The device doesn't quite fit in my Honda Civic's drinking bowl, but some packaging materials will do as long as I don't block the vents. Best buy I could make for $28. Note ***…
