Description of πŸ”§ Premium Rancho RS999379 Shock Absorber: Enhanced Performance and Durability

NINE LEVELS OF PERFORMANCE -- Nine-position easy-to-adjust knob allows customized damping control and firmness for on-road and off-road flexibility. DESIGNED FOR HARDWORKING VEHICLES -- Ideal for stock or lifted trucks, SUVs and Jeeps that tow, haul or go off road. INDUSTRY FIRST -- Recognized as the first nine-position manually adjustable shock series in the off-road market. REDUCES FADE -- Nitrogen gas pressurized to 120 PSI to minimize air-to-oil mixture and reduce damping performance fade and foaming. STRONG AND DURABLE -- Features an application-specific 18mm nitro-carburized piston rod to resist scuffs and corrosion, double-welded loops at stress areas and 1.25-in. sintered iron piston for enhanced structural integrity. HANDLES EXTREME TEMPERATURE CHANGES -- Up to 2.75-in. tri-tube body (application specific) filled with all-weather fluid allows for cooler operation, increased vehicle control and ability to withstand internal temperatures of -40 to 248Β°F. SMOOTH PERFORMANCE -- Polyurethane rebound bumper and bushings and graphite-filled fluon-banded piston help absorb ride harshness and enhance responsiveness to changing road conditions for an overall smoother ride. BUILT TO LAST -- Low-friction, self-lubricating seal retains gas and oil for quicker rebound and smoother compression while the long-lasting premium liquid metallic finish and polyvinyl protective boot ensures long life.

Too elastic. Fits Power Transmission Products

These shocks have a lot of potential but are too springy. They seem to dampen the truck well when the damper is compressed, but when the damper is released (the truck is going backwards) it doesn't dampen at all and the result is a springy ride. I replaced them all with Fabtech performance shocks that I like.

I should have kept my shock absorbers.

I have a 2012 GMC 2500HD 4X4 4 Door 5 Wheel Dump Truck. I spoke to the rancho rep. and he assured me that the 9000XL's adjustable shocks, set to their maximum setting, would keep my truck and fifth wheel from getting stuck on the dips and RR trails. Not so. My stock shocks were just as good, if not better. Don't waste your money on this junk. Find the best shock absorber or package it like I should. Rancho Shocks suck.

Shocking results. No!

This is the second set of Rancho RX9000XL adjustable shocks that I have installed on two different Silverados. The first set on a 2014 Chevrolet High Country, 1500 Series (1/2 ton) with 2.75 inch pistons and 9 position adjustment worked great with a built in camper loaded in the bed and sitting on Firestone airbags. Adjusting it around 1/2 way is similar to the factory Rancho shocks in damping, but adjusting it to 9 really stopped the rear end from bouncing on bumps etc. A new kit was installed
