I like these handles best in Grab Handles

I had these on my 2015 JK when I bought it. My son bought a 2011 JK so I bought him a set. The hardest part is aligning the screws so as not to twist them. The side screw is inclined slightly downwards. First I screwed in the screws without the shank to remove the paint from them and make it easier to tighten the screws when the shank is in place. In fact, the trickiest part is not dropping the factory side bolt into the A-pillar when removing it. Of course I did it on the passenger side. In…

Powerful and great looking!

STOUT! These things are strong! Several test reports complain about difficult installation and unsuitable hardware. It's purely the installer. TAKE YOUR TIME! Gently hand tighten the knobless screws to see the angles these things require. Neither handles nor display hardware are parallel or perpendicular when installed! Relax and enjoy. Put some lube on the new bolts and DO NOT tighten ANYTHING until everything lines up! That's easy. The hardware is correct and very forgiving. They are well…

Find the angle of the screws first, great product

Installed on the driver's side first, which took some time. If you just put the screws in the holes before attempting to install the handrail you will see what angle the screw is at. DO NOT ENTER DIRECTLY! Look at the corners and then install the handrails and yes it takes about 20 minutes. The angle is mentioned in almost every installer review, so it's important to take that into account. Once installed what a solid, stable and strong support system to hold onto to get into your jeep. Much…

EDIT: I returned the first set and ordered another to see if the problem persists. Same problem as below BUT this is how I got them working: First remove the sun visors then follow the instructions but FIRST install the A-pillar bolts then install the top bolts. The fit is still pretty tight, but it finally fit. Then the last step: reinstall the sun visors. I WANT to love these pens. Super durable and HEAVY. Started installing and like other 1 star reviews the holes on the knobs don't allow the

There is a left side and a right side

after watching the installation video on YouTube I had the tools and was ready for the perils of the installation. My ease of installation was due to being warned about some pitfalls of others. Old bolts are hard to get out, but Xtreme Terrain's tip of wrapping a piece of paper around the A-pillar hole to keep the bolt from falling into the hanger helped a lot. I used a piece of thick paper and a 6 inch extension on the socket that allowed me to get my fingers close enough. The default screw is

Easy Install on 2016 Jeep Wrangler JKU

Installation tricks after reading other reviews and installing it yourself today: When removing the screws on the sides, be sure to tilt the socket up while removing the screws to avoid them falling into the slot. If you use paper or plastic to fill the gap in case you drop the screw, make sure you remove the paper/plastic film after removing the screw and before inserting the new screw, otherwise the paper/ Plastic left in the gap is no place after installation to remove it. Rope would have…

08' JK, Doesn't fit, Had to send back, Shame

I've seen these handrails before and always thought they would be a great addition to my '08 JK. were delivered today. I opened the box, quickly read the one-page instructions, and started putting them on. It looked like 5 min work. I start by removing the factory screws (1 next to the visor and 1 on the stacker). The factory bolts you remove to replace aftermarket bolts are countersunk so the bolt is automatically centered and they are very strong bolts. The aftermarket bolts you supplied do…

Secure handrails, easy to fit with a little guidance to avoid small traps

Fits my 2007 JK like a glove. Look at these beforehand to figure out which is left and which is right (it's easy to tell the difference, remember you put the socket head screws in your pocket). Several other reviewers have made recommendations for safely removing old bolts without dumping them in the A-pillar cover. I used the "tie a rope around it when you remove it" method and it worked great. I managed to slide most of the spacers into the A-pillar trim - damn it! Slight annoyance from the…
