Low viscosity makes it difficult to seal gaps and cracks

This refractory cement is available as a powder to mix with water. When mixed, it has a pronounced self-leveling property, low viscosity. It flows and remains very fluid even when mixed with a little water. Perhaps the problem lies in the product description, the first paragraph says that it can be used to fill large gaps and cracks. yes on the floor I find it impossible to use it on the walls for this purpose, it just flows out, even from small cracks. The Greatest Thing That Never Happened!

This is amazing! The refractory slate at the back of my fireplace was cracking and crumbling, and after speaking to almost every Home Depot employee, I got the impression that there was no such thing as "fire mortar" or any cement-like material to patch the fireplace. I called the guy for an estimate and he wanted to charge me $250 to replace the panel. Big gaps/holes to fill?

Let me start by saying that my assessment is from someone who has never worked with any type of mortar. For its application I give it 4 out of 5 points. I bought it after doing some thorough research looking for a product that would seal the gaps between my fireplace face and the firebox; There was a risk that the smoldering coals could be drawn into the fireplace frame and catch fire in the chimney.
