I am 5 feet 5 inches tall and weigh 125 pounds. Size S fits well around the hips but I would be curious to try size XS for a smoother fit on the back. I wore them in the hot tub. and they tended to "heave" a little in the water. They're quite small, very cheeky, but not exactly a thong (man loves them!). If you rely on your butt and want a small bottom, this is a good choice. Fully lined and well stitched, versatile with different tops. You wash well. Excellent value for money and quality.

Full disclosure: I did not use this as a swimsuit. I bought this with a matching top for a quick and easy change into underwear for a belly dance costume at the Renaissancefest. The skin tone protected me from sweat and sebum without drawing attention away from the suit itself. I love them! They're just great, especially for the price. I wanted something with minimal buttock coverage but not like a thong, something low rise, no side ties, solid color, with ruffles at the back.
