The ideal sous vide cooking solution

The ideal sous vide cooking solution. They will not rust and will not stick to food. We used 10 balls and that's good for steaks, pork tenderloin etc. We started with 5 but needed more for some of the larger meats. Another 5 was the answer.

Understand what you are buying

People who buy them for cooking, brewing etc and then give a bad review when they discolour don't understand what stainless steel is . . This is 440 as it says in the description, apparently none of that is enough and they only see 'stainless steel'. 440 is NOT food safe and is only rated for moderate corrosion resistance. If you're looking for a grocery product, you need 304. Do your research.

Do not use for sous vide. These balls are NOT food safe

I ordered 10 of these stainless steel balls specifically for use as weights when cooking in an immersion convection oven (sous vide). When they arrived I was excited. I used to have to put spoons and butter knives in bags during the cooking process, which was difficult to remove and I was afraid the bag might break. When they arrived I washed them in hot water and dish soap. , then soaked for 30 minutes and rinsed. They have kept their immaculate shine as you can see from the photos. The recipe
