Works great if you follow the instructions.

We have to re-glue the seal on our fireplace insert. It was never glued properly at first, but lately it's getting lost at the ends. I followed the directions but first I held the tube with my knee for a few minutes before opening it. Note that you put some newspapers inside, as the cement can spread out a little and the first squeeze of the tube may result in a larger ball popping out than expected. Easy and clean to apply

So far, so good. Installed the oven door seal with this putty in the week of 11/24/14. Installation was easy with little to no mess. This sealing adhesive is not liquid and is therefore easier and cleaner to apply. Installation Details: Use a screwdriver to remove the old gasket and adhesive from the oven door. Great laying cement for laying a pellet stove!

The stuff worked great. It's thinner than I expected but works well. I'm 68 years old and if I can replace a door seal, anyone can. I chipped off the old cement after removing the old cable guide. I used a flathead screwdriver and a metal brush. Then I wiped all the dust off the door with a wet rag. I re-wet the sealant canal and pushed thinner than expected cement over the entire canal.
