Enhanced Sunex SX246 Needle Scaler with Ergonomic Pistol Grip Review

Great product. I have used this to remove limescale build up in my hot tub. I was a bit skeptical at first, but since I've tried everything else why not this one. My compressor is a bit small, it's good for that, but it took a little longer than it could. This immediately removed the calcium. In about 25 minutes I was plaque free after 3 years and no noticeable damage to the tiles in the pool.

Some reviews of this tool keep saying that the needle bar anvil shears off. There were so many positive reviews and so few useful tools in this price range that I ignored the negative reviews. Oops. After a copious amount of penetrating lubricant to free the piston in the air hammer, the needle anvil lasted about 20 minutes before snapping just like other reviews have stated.

This is a well built instrument that gives the overall impression of a quality instrument. I haven't fully tested it yet, but with limited test runs, all features are tested flawlessly. The regulator is a bonus, especially considering that whoever buys a short barrel is looking at more precise/tougher tasks with a hammer (sounds like a misnomer for sure). One final note: I'm not sure about the durability of the included bits, as the 'touch' of steel doesn't inspire confidence in that regard…

I had an old Craftsman air hammer that lasted 20 years. I think we'll see how long that lasts. Anyway, I was impressed by it when I first used it. Wheel bearing made, and where the middle gets stuck on a hike, it worked quickly. A few weeks ago I replaced the hub assembly on another car and the CV axle was difficult to slide through. Did the other side with this one and Boom made the job a lot easier. Such a good performance and appears to be well made

Rewritten review: I had some issues with the spring being too tight and not being able to fully secure the bits. So the spring is too tight for the Sunex. I have a spare with the same problem. For five dollars I easily got two more universal threads and earned a hammer. I used it to repair my aluminum boat. This is good because it has an adjustable hammer wheel and I didn't want the huge hammer hitting the 3/16" rivets too hard. Works great for this once I figure out spring.

So I expected a lot of performance from this device but in terms of effect it wasn't the best. So the $200 Hammer is well worth the money if you want to cut power to throw out the frozen food. anything. The mount is perfect and keeps the attachments neat. Recommend if you need a medium. Very easy to use and manage. I tried banging out a rusty 5/8 bolt thinking it would have the desired effect, but I was wrong. I went from this one to my old one and finally got it to move. I'm not sure which one

Great value for money - after spending many days chiseling rust carbuncles on the hull of my battering barge I have nothing but admiration for this product. With my 5hp gas wheelbarrow supercharger, I could easily run this continuous 100% duty cycle. My little electric pancake compressor couldn't keep up, so I had to stop and let the compressor pressure build up every minute or so, probably at 40% duty cycle. The needle scaler is such a cool invention and this Sunex machine did a great job…
