Sturdy little suction cup

I've read some other reviews that mention the foam tape on this thing is an Achilles heel and yes it is. I spent some time peeling/scratching/dissolving it (use some acetone to get the residue) and then used some epoxy to glue this bastard on top and it's not going anywhere! I'm so happy knowing my belongings are safe from a quick snatch and snatch.

Not Targus. Strength? subject to clarification.

I saw reviews that said Revain wasn't shipped from Targus and assumed they were wrong. But I have 3 right now and they really don't look like the picture. Although the ring isn't as thick as in the picture, it's double, so is it that strong or not, I don't know. I'll try to get an exchange for Targus products but if that doesn't work I'll take these and see how they work. (I have epoxy which I will be using instead of the supplied adhesive pads. I will also be using screws through the holes…

The hole is too small for my laptop's hinge to fit through.

I want it to match as the quality of the base seems solid. This would serve the purpose of securing my laptop to my desk. I liked that it has a lid that covers the screws so that with a cable threaded through a hole in the base the lid cannot be lifted to access the screws. I have an X1 Carbon ThinkPad with a lock port that only accepts Lenovo's Kensington MicroSaver 2.0 cable lock.
