The kit comes complete with four different color laces, blue, yellow, red and white. The lace on heat shield blocks over 98 per cent of the radiant heat of the turbo and exhaust. The design of the cover allows it to fit from 2-1/2 inch to 3-1/2 inch air tubes up to 36 inches long. Part number: 14500.

Aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat, and if your air intake .

People claiming "it doesn't work" clearly haven't completed a full assessment of their alleged heat issues. The first step is to measure the reading of the intake air temperature sensor and evaluate the curves (ambient air temperature versus fresh air temperature versus IAT reading) based on several variables: relative humidity, vehicle speed, radiator and exhaust manifold fan speeds. Downpipe (Example) Temp. Study the collected data BEFORE installing this product, and repeat the study underโ€ฆ

It slices, dices, protects the air intake from engine heat!

I was quite skeptical about this product at first, but when I found a $50 bill in the parking lot I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to purchase a Thermo-Tec CoolAir Tube Heat Shield. Once I received it, I quickly opened the package and went to my 1998 Dodge Durango SLT to install it. Talk about chic! They add laces in four different colors so you have a choice of red, blue, yellow or white depending on your taste. Installation was easy, I wrapped it around my cold air intake pipe,

The product itself is well made but there are no instructions. While you don't need a mechanic to use/install this, it would be nice to have some pointers if you encounter certain situations. Firstly if there is a smaller tube for the vacuum line coming from the main tube how do I install it so it looks good? Another thing is that if the pipe has a more severe bend than shown in the picture, it cannot be installed without looking very bad. I couldn't use it at all because the tube was bent. Itโ€ฆ
