Very easy to use for metric inserts and kits

Used this to repair stripped exhaust pipe threads on my Stihl 028. Very easy to use, after about 10 minutes I reinstalled the silencer and it was still there. Would use this again without hesitation.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Security

difficult to use. in thread repair kits

I was able to repair a thread I was working on. I fixed two threads but went through about 6 spiral coils before I could get it to work. Some spirals get stuck and don't reach the end. after several attempts they finally worked.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Good but not great

Works well. Loctite can help hold it in place.

I had to repair a thread in a bicycle frame. The hole was badly worn and the outer part was wider than the required diameter. However, the thread repair kit worked. I added Loctite for extra security and it's still holding up well after 1000 miles.

Pros
  • practical article
Cons
  • So-so

Use on fishing reels and motorcycles.

I work on fishing reels and saltwater and stainless steel and aluminum don't like each other. I'm forced to break and then re-screw the screw holes. Sometimes I can't get it straight and I have to overdo it. On motorcycles, it is easy to strip the threads on some parts. This kit works a treat.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Works as good as Helicoil for less Price

I broke a bolt in the aluminum compressor on a Cobra 03. Once I drilled a hole with a 13/64 titanium drill bit. new thread in the new notch. The only thing I would say is that the tool used to grip the shank by the threads would probably be better if it had a slot rather than a recess on one side. The shaft broke off on the first try, which I failed. The second time was successful. Worked great and let me finish my project.

  • Great price
Cons

Fantastic for aluminum repair

I work with Porsche cars and small engines, they have aluminum engines and other parts and no doubt the threads are stripped, these and other dimensions are mandatory and real make the threaded connection stronger, and it's definitely better than buying a new part or welding it on and then drilling and bolting it. But if you tap aluminum you have to use anti-seize on the faucet or you run the risk of hanging it and possibly breaking it in the hole (big problem). This is the best I've ever used…

Great thread repair kit!

The bolt hole on my alternator was ripped out causing the bolt to work loose while driving. This resulted in some damage to my drive belts. I researched various thread repair methods and chose this perma coil thread repair kit because it is easy to perform and does not require over drilling a hole as an emergency repair kit. I simply drilled a hole, tapped the threads, inserted the spool with the special tool that came with it, and that was it. I also applied some blue thread lock to prevent…
