The watch is great. The resin band sucks. Now I have 3 of these still good watches that are unusable because the polymer straps break and there are no replacement straps. I have tried. So now I'm buying new watches again just because my current strap broke again. It is not possible to use a resin-free strap with this style. That's good for Timex, but bad for us. I'm honestly surprised. Overall, I think Timex offers remarkable value, which is why this particular weakness comes as a surprise…

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • I have nothing wrong with it, everything is fine

Don't Buy Timex Ironman with Digital Heart Rate

I paid almost $400 for a full size Ironman triathlon watch with digital heart rate and chest strap. I have owned Timex watches for most of my life, both business and sport watches. I had numerous issues with the strap and heart rate monitor. When I came back to replace the strap and monitor I was told the watch had been discontinued by Timex and was no longer being made. The support rep said to check with Revain and eBay, which I did. Nothing. Nada. Zippo. Tried to call Polar to see if their…

Pros
  • Quality Construction
Cons
  • Secret

Send chest strap to factory for battery replacement. I've had Polar, Omron and Timex monitors and they were all different. Polar doesn't allow the owner to change the battery - you have to send it to him. I found that to be a major disadvantage. Previous Timex monitors weren't as sensitive as I would like and didn't last long. This clock/monitor appears to be of high quality and very sensitive. I don't need all the features of this watch - I just want to know my heart rate and so far it's doing

Pros
  • . Few competitors.
Cons
  • . Weight.

NOT WATER RESISTANT - AMAZON MAKES GOOD PRODUCTS THEY SELL

Watch is NOT WATER RESISTANT. Poor seal design that is not built into the seal groove / cheap seal. TIMEX POOR QUALITY / NOT WHAT IT WAS. The second clock has the same problem. I spoke to other reviewers and they said they swam with the watch and had no issues. My OLD IRONMAN ROAD that I surfed, built etc. It broke down and kept ticking just like the old adds. NOT THESE PRODUCTS FROM TIMEX. If you changed the battery from someone other than the manufacturer, it will leak. Gasket does not fit…

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Terrible experience with Timex

I've had (and have) Ironman watches for 20 years now and love the brand - I usually run with Polar HRM on one wrist and Timex on the other. I bought this hoping to have both functions in one watch but the experience hasn't been great so far. The chest strap feels comfortable, as other reviewers have said, but if it's snug enough to stay in place while running, it rubs and cuts skin. Body Glide helps, but it takes a lot of effort to prevent it. I went back to my Polar chest strap and tried using

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Trade in available

Looks like a solid product

Seems to be a solid product after a month of use. However, I have complaints. You cannot set any of the custom heart rate zones above 100%. Why could this be a problem? Because not all of us train with "maximum heart rate”. I train with Friel's Threshold Heart Rate (LTHR). Friel uses seven heart rate zones: 90% to 93% LTHRZone4: 94% to 99% LTHRZone5a: 100% to 102% LTHRZone5b: 103% to 106% LTHRZone5c: >106% LTHRTimex would have gotten a more flexible product if you switched your product from…
