Why is TomTom constantly changing the way you use your device?

I've been using TomTom GPS for years and have found it easy and accurate. I thought my device was broken so I bought a new Go 60 but it's programmed completely differently than previous models. Instead of entering the state, you enter the street first and then the house number, which you're about to enter, which I think is more convenient. But the screen is different, as is the way information is displayed - it's so difficult for me to use that I don't use it. I wish tech companies would leave…

OK Device for storing cell phone data.

As a frequent user of GPS navigations, I chose this device to reduce cellphone data costs. The good news is that it's relatively easy to use and update. The screen is a good size, making it easy to keep an eye on when you're on the go. In other news I noticed that sometimes the geometry of the roads on the display doesn't match the reality of the road I'm driving on. The difference isn't critical, but it's a bit annoying. The search function is also weak, if not useless. When trying to find a…

Not as good as before: basically works.

This is my third TomTom™ GPS purchase since 2007. However, I liked the other two better. Although the screen is larger, the overall picture appears smaller/wider when viewed. When reaching the destinations, the given address # is not shown like it was in the previous blocks, so I have to check the documents, stop or look away from the road 👎. The American male voice sounds like Gail Baedeker from Breaking Bad (makes me smile), but the female voice doesn't sound like Raquel Welch like in the…

damn good real time navi

good unit. Slightly different than my old XL. You don't get some of the old features like customizing the on/off screens or the car icon. But once you use it a few times, you can easily learn how to add places. The best part is that you can finally record the route (I've wanted to do this for years). If you have a specific route that you know is the best, write it down and ask Tomtom to reuse that route. Connecting my phone to Tomtom via Bluetooth was a bit annoying (it took an hour but finally

Step back for Tom Tom

Pros - large, easy to read - reroutes routes quickly Cons ----- almost impossible to see in bright sunlight (my biggest complaint about not being able to see the map is it just a 4x7 inch ornament) ---- there is no way to send addresses from my phone to the device (although they claim you can, there is nowhere to look up an address in a very basic app be able). There is a web browser feature that is slow and then still finds the street in my city. or a country, or even a continent. I'm not in…

The Good and Bad in Car GPS

Used for a 2000 mile trip last week. I yelled at him and was ready to throw him out the window before I had even driven 50 miles on the way back. Before I talk about that, I will state that the device served its function and I never got lost because of it. It wasn't too difficult to set up, but it took 12 hours or more to load maps etc. I thought it was just my relatively slow internet connection, but I see this issue mentioned in other reviews. The Bluetooth connection to my smartphone is…
