Ideal for clamping brake line nuts.

I had to pump all the new brake lines on a 2008 Nissan Xterra. I used a standard vise and a flashlight to remove any stuck nuts. It worked for all but three where I couldn't use a flashlight. This wrench broke them all on the first try and saved me a lot of time. I just wish I knew about this tool before I've spent all this time removing others with a flashlight and standard vise. I recommend this for all braking work.

Great product Wrench

I bought this vise to hold brake line fittings. I've used it a few times because I can get it to fit snugly in the fitting where my brake line wrenches are a little sloppy causing damage and problems. The jaws are machined at right angles to fit the hex nut onto the brake line. I bought one for my son and it worked so well. I've found I can spin harder without worrying about damage than I can with a cable wrench. I don't know what you will use it for other than as a brake line.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Requires socket

The perfect solution for brake line repairs

I couldn't have replaced my brake lines without this flare nut clamp (and pop hammer). This tool is absolutely necessary. Just the right size for the flare nuts on the small brake lines of vintage cars. If it were bigger I wouldn't be able to turn it to loosen/tighten the cap nuts. I've tried and failed to loosen the flare nuts with a regular vise and flare wrench, but I've just started removing the nut. I connected this vise to a hammerless hammer and crescent wrench and got the job done…

Enormous time savings!

Four decades ago, I tripped over a horribly frozen brake nipple on a 1977 Datsun. Since then I've spent many hours breaking them, breaking the easy exits, setting the calipers on fire, drilling the calipers off axis and replacing them. I was dreading changing the brake lines on an old Ranger and someone suggested I try this tool. I sprayed on a Kroil fitting, clamped it, and removed the rusty fitting in under a minute. Don't let the small size fool you. It's tiny so you can fit it in tight…

Pros
  • Protected trigger ensures quick firing and prevents accidental firing.
Cons
  • boring packaging

Brake Line Lifebuoy

If you've ever worked with cars, you must be familiar with hard brake line fittings and how stiff and easy to round they are. I used to use the "flare wrenches" specially designed for them, but even these can sometimes slip off and damage the fitting. I was recently struggling with a stubborn brake line and discovered this wonderful little tool. I ordered it and waited for it to arrive before continuing work on it (arrived the next day so not long!). This little tool impresses with its…

Pros
  • Sturdy jaws are fixed on three sides with a hex lock and will not slip or leave marks on the workpiece.
Cons
  • Obsolete

The ONLY way to loosen a stuck union nut

So there was something obscene. I bought a 20 year old SUV for an off road project in August. I've been slowly updating parts and the end is finally near. I got hold of some stainless steel flex brake hoses and sat on them for a couple of weeks while I worked up the courage to get to work. Starting with the driver's side. The box wrench failed first, stretching and then slipping, rounding the corners of the hexagon. kissing followed. I sprayed generously with PB Blaster, waited a day and tried…

Pros
  • Built-in cutter means you don't have to change tools. Manufactured from high quality alloy steel with heat treatment for maximum strength and durability.
Cons
  • So far so good
