Withstands a tough trip and TSA inspection

These straps withstood a trip from Michigan to California where the luggage tag I used on my suitcase broke completely. They also survived TSA baggage screening (I found one of their little notes in my luggage when I unpacked my suitcase), so they seem very durable to me. The bright blue color helped me instantly identify my bag on the baggage carousel. In fact, my only issue with them was the arrival time - a month after I ordered them. I received them a day before my departure.

My daughter's hardcover suitcase opened at check-in.

My daughter's hardcover suitcase opened (zipped open) while checking in on her last flight and the airline staff had to unzip the back luggage compartment. So I thought I'd try them out on my next flight. We had just left on another flight and sure enough her suitcase was undone. This time, however, her bag was on the carousel and all of its contents were intact because they were held together by those straps. I will never board another flight without using them.

The clasp broke on first use.

The strap is long enough for a large suitcase (26" x 10") and it was great and very easy to adjust and held the adjustment well but the female part of the buckle broke. first use. It's not strong enough plastic for its intended purpose. It needs to be done much better. Upon inspection, it was discovered that a 1/2" x 1/4" piece of plastic had snapped off the outside of the female part of the attachment mechanism. Literally used it for the first time.
