Turbo Tank Cleaner

The unit initially worked great until the plastic thread in the hot water tank drain pipe broke and water from the tank spilled underground. I turned off the main water valve but up to 50 gallons of water spilled onto the underground floor. I had to use needle nose pliers to remove the broken threads from the tank drain - this part of the device really should be metal, not plastic.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Hard to say

Fits rough piping quickly and thoroughly

Absolutely stunning (see video). I used the "Store Vacuum" method before, but it was 80% faster and much more thorough. It's a little messy to remove the water heater tube and insert a tool, but nothing special (I did this without draining the tank as shown in one of the YouTube videos). I cleaned two water heaters. Both tanks were cleaned and put back into service in less than two hours. For your own safety, follow the instructions carefully and do not use force with the tool as it is made of…

Attention buyers! - Water heater and parts

At first I thought this was a brilliant product. It cleaned the sediment as advertised until suddenly in the middle of the process the connector attached to the water heater broke and all the water in the tank spilled onto the floor! I couldn't prevent it because part of that cheap plastic tool was still screwed into the tank! I had to wait for the water to drain before removing it. What a mess it was! Luckily my kettle is in the garage. I can't imagine how disastrous it could be if it was…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Updates available

I REALLY wanted to like this product because it's a brilliant idea but the performance of the product doesn't even live up to my expectations for a port freight tool. First, the plastic is so thin and of poor quality that the hose connection leaked badly. When I installed it I was afraid it would break in two any second. A metal spring auger, similar to a drain cleaning snake, has a high probability of chipping off the tank liner, which will only result in accelerated tank failure. Does it spin

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Expensive

Super easy to use, goes well with water heater parts

After receiving a $1,000 offer from a plumber to clean my reservoir of scale, I googled to see how I could do it myself. I'm so glad I chose Turbo Tank Cleaner! I read the instructions cover to cover before getting started and also watched a YouTube demo video a couple of times. I did this without draining the tank as the YouTube video shows. First, however, I turned off the heat and ran hot water in the shower so there was no problem draining the scalding hot water through the hose. Following…

Great Job!: Rough Plumbing

Great Job! A 9 year old water heater crackling and humming with deposits on the bottom of the tank. The wife wanted me to replace it. I bought it and followed the instructions and it worked great. Drained the tank which was in the basement, there was no drain nearby, and used buckets for home storage. insert device. (should have taken the advice to let it run a bit when inserting before screwing in as I think there is still some sediment near the hose drain connector. But that was my fault…

Does your water heater pop and pop when heating?

Turbo Tank Cleaner has a lot of valuable information on its website. I will only post information that complements its content. I have a 3 year old 50 gallon propane water heater that rumbles, rattles and pops when heating up. In recent months, the water temperature has also recovered more slowly. I've been looking for and applying DIY water heater flushing methods to no avail, so I've tried Turbo Tank Cleaner. I didn't have too much sediment, but there was 1/8 inch of sediment covering the…
