I purchased this book because I’m taking up Letterboxing and want an attractive book for collecting the imprints of rubber stamps. The leather is of decent quality although rather thick. Since the book is moderately priced it is as expected. The plastic stone is very pretty. Mine has some brown flecks not just on the back, but within, like a lump of amber. So I bought this on a whim a couple months ago. Later I bought a glowing pigment and applied it to the journal. Later I gave it to a friend who plays D&D. She loves it, not just for the dragon on the cover, but because of the end result with the glowing pigment.One small downside, the trim on the sides does not thread through the holes and wrap around them as the images seem to imply. I love this journal and writing in it, the paper is of good quality and so is everything else, though I'm knocking stars off since it came broken. One of the latches was completely broken off and I can't fix it or glue it back on since it needs to move or whatever to work. I bought it because of the nice designs and latches, so I was disappointed. Otherwise, it has a weird smell but a nice one you get used to it. Like old books. My Fiancé is a Dungeon Master. It requires writing notes and keeping track of everything in the campaign. He wanted a fancy, leather journal to use when we played Dungeons and Dragons for his birthday and this was just PERFECT! He loved the leather, the texture of the paper, the stone, the design on the cover and the little lock! Be aware that the stone in the Walmart image is not always the stone you will receive. Either way, the fact that the stone was different in no way makes this item less

I was un aware that the size of paper used is evidently a European size, so getting refill paper might be difficult. But all-in-all I like it a lot.

Smaller than expected and the stone was not amber or even yellow, it’s clear and dirty looking. Beautiful!. Not what was advertised

This was brought as a gift for my son who is an artist. He loved the texture and size of this journal which he can take with him and pull it out when it is needed. He also enjoyed the uniqueness of the stone on the cover.

Feels very authentic, this is the kind of thing you want to write some cool stuff in, but the sides of the pages were a little stained from the leather.

This is not a bright yellow stone. I think it would be awesome, if the stone was like the one in the picture. That's my review.

Same journal as a bunch of other sellers but at a much better price. Great stones, craftmanship, etc. Doesn't look cheap whatsoever. Got is as a gift and the receiver absolutely loved it.

The front of it looks great, but the inside cover, and first few pages are stained with the same stain as was used on the cover. The paperbinside was similar to tissue paper. But this will work for what I plan on using it for. If you are looking for a good sketch book, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Bought this for my Daughter, after inspection on receiving this item. I can tell she will have to be careful with. But it looks awesome. Not sure what kind of leather was used for the binder. Fast transaction and fast delivery.

Absolutely beautiful, I've had this book for quite some time now. I haven't wrote in it yet. I want to practice coligrophy to write in it. Enough pages for a lot of things I want to write down. I would definitely want to give this for a friend as a gift, but this one is mine.

The journal is well made, however the gem is apparently random instead of yellow/golden as shown on the listing. I got a dull looking grey/blue stone :/

Really nice. There's a lot of paper packed into the notebook and that makes it difficult to clasp it closed. The first few pages had been wrinkled as a result. But really nice quality overall.

There is tearing on the holes for the paper and on the paper, as if the holes where not premade and the clasp keeps coming undone. Over all it's alright though and it is aesthetically pleasing.

I like the journal, great gift idea for my other half.My only complaints are that:• the latch (lock) is difficult to secure.• the color of the stones are of poor quality.• the glue and/or binding does not seem durable.I do not believe that this journal will last if actually used as a journal.Alternatively, if the intended use of this piece is for decoration in a home or office, this journal is a good purchase.

For under $20 shipped, not much to complain about. Great journal book. Very close to advertised picture. The folks complaining about quality.try to make one yourself for under $40. Seriously it's cheap chop shop stuff, but if you know that going in, it looks cool and works fine. I would buy again.
