Large Book

I like both the design and the historical information about the designs contained in this book. As someone who has been knitting for over 20 years and has always enjoyed traditional knitting styles, I enjoyed this book. I like how the authors change traditional patterns while still retaining the historical aspects and classic look that I prefer to my knitting.

Pros
  • Stylish and Modern Design
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

Old style, new approach

I've been waiting for this book to come out because I saw a preview of some patterns. I'm glad I got it! While I probably won't make everything, I like most of the patterns. I particularly like two shawls and cardigans. The yarn is beautiful and is sold in the author's own shop. Both are on ravelry.com and available for email sample questions. Considering individual patterns are now $5-8 each, a book at this price is a steal if you plan to make 2 or 3 pieces. in the book.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Very expensive

Vintage Modern Jersey

Many books like to call their patterns "vintage" without understanding the word. The patterns in this book are really vintage, classic patterns, often with a modern twist, but things that you can wear for a long time. I've made two patterns so far, a scarf and a sweater with a Faire Isle yoke on the cover and they turned out great! The instructions are concise and well worded. It's very easy to understand. The explanation of the shortened rows in the yoke is the best I've seen. I bought thisโ€ฆ

Pros
