they loosen over time

If you use them to hold a car be aware that they will loosen and you will need to check them regularly. I used them on a car in a closed car transporter and after a few hundred kilometers they were all completely loose and one of them wasn't even on the tire.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Some difficulties

They are good for outdoors but not for your desire.

They're fine for street use but not if you want to tie down your Pre Runner or UTV. I lost one on the way to Baja and it was probably from shaking on and off the road. It took me a little to understand her. I only use the three I have and now that I know how they work, I'm not losing anymore. lol

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Compatibility

Unsafe and reliable fastening system.

They don't work well. I've tried using them multiple times and can't get them to stay safely on the tires. Finally, I don't think it's safe to use them. Update: I actually managed to tow the car with these straps. The problem seems to be the tires, the belts don't work with the autocross tires I have on the Mini Cooper S. The non-traditional tread pattern as shown in the picture is not compatible with this mounting system.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Has flaws

Nothing for a flat car.

These are probably very good mounts for some cars and trucks. But they're not very good for a low-profile car. And they don't tell you that on their sales page. The problem with them is that they bounce back and forth off the tires, which is what I wanted because I thought they would be safer when tying my Audi. The problem is that on a low profile car, and especially if it has a lower fairing (and I have a stock one), the straps can rest against the fairing and damage or scratch it. Havingโ€ฆ

Remove load from trailer

Buy it. With these straps, tying up the car is much faster. Because the car remains unladen on the trailer, the car's suspension absorbs most of the shock when you're on the road, allowing for safer and more controlled towing. Because the car is free to move and absorb shock, the straps stay in place until you let go of them. No more broken straps or loose loads. If you often transport cars, you should have them.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Different hinges for different locations

I have a major disadvantage in that the latch cannot move all the way to the locked position. The ratchet handle touched the "tie down" hook on the trailer. To complement this I simply used a zip tie. Installing the straps for each piece of tire seemed to take longer than putting the car on a trailer. It's a pain on a lowered vehicle because I had to make sure the steering belt didn't touch any of the lines it had when it was first put in. A minor issue was the ease of adjusting the straps toโ€ฆ

Great if you only drive flat roads

These brackets look and feel like a higher quality product and I was looking forward to new and heavier straps for securing cars to my trailer. Unfortunately, even with careful installation, proper tilt and tension, they can come loose very quickly on a bumpy road. I've had rides where they never lost their tension and rides where I could see them drape tautly on the trailer deck for a mile or two in the side mirrors. I can't have that unpredictability in a product that delivers severalโ€ฆ

When I first liked the product, I drove 11 hours to pick up a new one.

First I received 4 full straps, not just one as noted in the 1 star comments. When I first liked an item like this, I drove 11 hours to pick up a new car, so I wasn't in a hurry. It was a Jeep Wrangler with big 255x75x17 tires. After placing the straps on top, I adjusted the side straps on the bottom half of the tire. Note that they are shown in the image in the top half. I went to the bottom half so don't look at the photo. just below the middle of the tire. Thread the loose end through theโ€ฆ

Poor product quality control.

I liked the idea of securing all four tires instead of the axles as the straps won't damage the painted axles or interfere with the brake lines on the axle. What I don't like is the quality of the product, especially the o-rings attached to the straps. The fairing of the two O-rings had burrs that abraded the webbing and caused it to stretch. If I hadn't found the problem by doing this, the belts would have snapped and the machine would have become loose. Instead, the straps were able toโ€ฆ
