Type of review

These tungsten electrodes provide exceptional performance with consistent arcing characteristics and are less prone to arc degradation than most low fouling electrodes. With proper preparation, the resulting arc is stable with minimal deflection. I've bought both 1/16 and 3/32 and the only real complaint I have is that the paint on the 3/32 electrodes is so thick I have to disassemble the torch head to replace the tungsten electrodes; in a pack I have a thicker varnish than a collet.

Really amazing value.

Much cheaper than the E3 tungsten I buy at my local Airgas store. I haven't used it yet, so I can't report how it works. I will update when that happens. One thing to note, one reviewer tried to blame this on an unfortunate x-ray of pipe welds: I have about 12 years of experience welding critical pipe welds, and I can say I don't think that could be the case. . Tungsten inclusions can occur with any type of tungsten electrode and are largely related to the operator's technique rather than the…

Strong but stable puddle

Very good tungsten. Just started using my last tungsten of the 10 it came with. I've had this pack for over 3 months and have welded 15 pounds of .032 gauge flux cored wire with this tungsten. It's the best I've found for 304 and 347 stainless steel. The best part is how it gets dirty. If you drop this rod or get dirty spatter it will snap off the tip allowing you to continue/complete your weld. I can attest to being able to have a steady arc up to 2 amps. I mainly weld 20 and 16 gauge flanges,

Better than OLD stuff

I've used them very little so far just with some old flashlight parts and am waiting for more modern gas lenses and cups to match. Anyway, using this tungsten, 1/8 inch, to weld 1/8 inch aluminum sheet (navy grade) with a heavier channel and angle, both 6000 grades. With a properly honed tip, arc control was fairly easy, and I'll admit I've gotten a little rusty from lack of practice. The only reason previously mentioned was not giving 5 stars. The colored end of my collets doesn't go through…

Excellent tungsten for aluminum or steel and affordable!

I am a professional intermediate and amateur welder (almost exclusively TIG for mild and stainless steel and soft electrode welding). I welded school and then employer owned equipment for 15 years. I just bought my first TIG welder, a 225 amp AC/DC primary welder, and I needed tungsten that can weld aluminum and steel. They weld every piece of steel as well as thoriated or cerium rods that we use in our work. But as someone who has never welded aluminum up until yesterday I can also attest that

The blue paint melts and some will not strike the arc

The paint at the end melts easily and runs down the tungsten. After that I went back to read some reviews and people mentioned that I need to sand this color first before welding. I did not. If the tip is dirty, welding is not possible and the problem must be corrected. I also have 4 out of 10 that don't weld. It just buzzed when started at high frequency and never started an arc. I'm going back to Blue Demon. Edit: So the false start was my fault. My case back cracked, causing all the argon to

Wow! Shocked by this product. Tungsten electrodes are used for the first time worldwide. I've used it to smelt chrome alumina to make rubies and they do a great job! It's easy to sustain an extreme temperature arc without melting the electrode. I've used it with no gas and it works fabulous. Just make sure you sharpen the tip properly. I prefer the truncated tip for maximum surface area at high amperage. It lasts a long time, but since I don't use gas, the tip often needs to be restored to the…
