Grandson tears up little RC cars while playing Battlebots... I'm trying to fix them. Right size for soldering small parts and wires... good match with illuminated magnifying lamp.

The rivet that acts as the pivot on the alligator clip fell out with the spring in less than a day and has only been used a few times overall.

This worked for me and the magnifying glass is great but I wish it was bigger. A larger block could provide more room to work and less likely to tip over if it had a larger base.

If you are a DIY enthusiast then this item is a must have. I use it for more than just electronics repairs. It is very durable and has a good stable weight for storing many items. The clamps can be manipulated into almost any configuration, and the magnifying glass can be removed.

I wanted this to match my other Weller soldering tools. I was disappointed in the power of the magnets. You can't bend your arms until the magnets work. I bought from another manufacturer (small business owned) and their magnets are better strong rare earth magnets, they never popped out of mine.

I'm new to soldering so I may not have enough experience to appreciate the intricacies of this article, but here's my opinion anyway. It works as it should but I wish the base was heavier and the alligator clips were rubber coated for fear of damaging a tiny SMD or just scratching the board. I solved the weight problem by putting a brick on the edge (haha) and maybe I'll modify the clamps myself with heat shrink tubing or something.
