Basic peripheral, works well at high altitudes

Earned this in the Fall 2013 Wii Fit U free promotion. cheaper than the full price of the package. You don't need this to play Wii Fit U, but you do need a balance board. So if you are planning to download the game, keep that in mind. If you are planning to buy a set, one of these devices will be included. Do not wear this device while playing, your METs for these workouts will be processed in-game. I take it to work. The place where I work is at high altitude and can involve quite a bit of…

Good price for a complete gaming experience.

This is an updated Pokewalker with some cool features. Sure, it's been repurposed for the Wii Fit U and has new/adapted software, but it's basically the same device as my kid's Pokewalker that came with the Soul Silver. It's a pretty decent pedometer, and I've only synced it to the Wii Fit U twice so far. It gives you a history of your ascent, steps, calories burned, time and temperature. The finish scratches fairly easily and after only two weeks of use, mine is a little worn just from clothes

Great pedometer for the whole family

At the turn of the year I gave each child a Wii Fit so that they can move around better. The kids have great fun walking and seeing how many steps they've taken, they really started encouraging my husband to take them for a walk every day (it was worth it!) and it's fun, part of a friendly to be family. Competition to see how many of the walking challenges we can complete on Wii. I also go for walks alone and was shocked to see how little I move. time to run! can be adjusted so that it doesn't…

Whole Family - Wii U

When we discovered that Fit Meter unlocked access to the game for those who already had a balance board, we knew it was worth the investment. The problem was, who gets the meter in a family of five? Well, we solved it by getting five. My husband, I and our children aged 6, 8 and 10 wore blood glucose meters for almost a month. The kids wear them to school (we put labels on the back with their names in case they fall) and we have constant family issues with distance and size. My daughter often…

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

  • Definitely a bad product

This is a MUST if you have a Nintendo Wii Fit U!

This is a must have if you have a Wii Fit U. This is (today) the only fitness tracker that syncs with a fitness program, and it's really, really good. The no-frills Fit Meter from Nintendo is characterized by a simple and elegant design. It is about 2 times a quarter in diameter and about 2/3-3/4 in thickness of a deck of playing cards. The device is very light, has a nice solid clip on the back and only three buttons on the front. THERE IS NO BACKLIGHT BUT THIS IS NORMAL because you need to…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Once again, Nintendo hits the ball out of the park. I couldn't imagine using the Wii Fit U without this device. It adds so much to the experience that without it the program would seem like a simple game shell. It's essentially an activity tracker, not just a pedometer. You wear it around your waist all day, either on your belt or pants, or even on your underwear when you don't want anyone to see it. It measures just under 2 inches in diameter and just under 1/4 inch thick, so it's a small…

  • Rugged Construction
Cons
  • Almost Everything is Right

Awesome little device!

This rating is for the Fit Meter accessory only. Now remember that this device works in conjunction with the Wii Fit U software, so there are additional benefits (which come with the software) that are not detailed. This includes detailed activity charts and a few "mini-games" but don't worry, just like this device, they work fantastically well for keeping track of your activities and having fun. Now let's focus on this device. First off, it's only $20, which is very affordable for activity…

Great addition to regular workout

Background: I never played Wii Fit before Wii Fit U so can't compare it to older versions. I've been using this game (with a pedometer) for about three weeks. I am a 5 foot 20 year old female in my early 20's, in good shape and not overweight. Gauge: It's small, about half a dollar and half an inch thick. I've been wearing it under tight fitting clothing for three weeks now and no one has noticed (or politely refrained from asking about an obvious swelling on my thigh). It's made of very strong

Pros
  • Hands-free mode
Cons
  • Not the best
