Review on MetaMask by The hsotaka

My review about MetaMask.

Today i want to tell you something about the MetaMask wallet.

I'm in crypto since 2016 and MetaMask was one of the first wallets i used.
It's still my favorite ether wallet.

Most of the wallets take the technical aspects away from the user, they are using fix transaction fees, you always see all supported tokens, etc.

With MetaMask you have the full control over every aspect.
You can set the GWEI and the gas limit completely on your own.
You can add every ERC20 token to your list of displayed token, just by adding the contract adress to your wallet.
Because MetaMask is a chrome extention, you can connect your wallet to any decentralized exchange, IDEX for example.

There is nothing better, than selling or buying coins directly with the wallet you use. No need to transfer coins to an exchange and pay fees to withdraw them.

Of course you need to pay attention when preparing a transaction. You can set the transaction fee on your own, so there is the chance that your transaction run out of gas because the gas limit you set was too low.
But that's the risk for having the full control.

What else to know?
If you download MetaMask you can create a new wallet. But if you already have an ethereum wallet, you can import it easily. So you can't compare MetaMask with apps like Huobi or Coinbase wallet. They create a new wallet for you and of course you will be the owner of the private key, but you are forced to use the new created wallet.
MetaMask is more like a framework. You can import your existing wallet to get a quick access via browser extension or to connect it with a decentralized exchange.

My opinion?
You don't need MetaMask to create a ether wallet, you can do it with MyEtherWallet or any other Wallet App or website. But downloading the MetaMask browser extension and importing your existing wallet, will give you great advantages. You always have a quick access to your wallet, you can connect your wallet to decentralized services, and much more :)

Pros
  • Best wallet for ether transactions, DEX connections, etc.
  • You can set the amount of transaction fee on your own.
  • You can fully customize the tokens you want to see by adding the contract adress to your ether.
Cons
  • Transactions can fail because the fees you set were too low.

Metamask is a very nice and useful wallet to use. I send my earnings from airdrops to this wallet and since they have agreements with Uniswap, I can easily connect Uniswap and convert my earnings from airdrops to ethereum.

MetaMask is an erc20 wallet with quite a lot of users. MetaMask has been designed in a simple and understandable way in terms of a highly developed interface in terms of security and has a lot of users around the world. I think it will develop much more in the future and its users will increase more. I have never had a problem using it. I would recommend it to everyone

Metamask (compare to MEW) has a huge advantage that it can be installed as an web explorer plugin and you can use it to interact with so many dapps. It is a prime choice if you like to experiment with dapps.

metamask is not much to my liking but if it is a legal wallet I see it as very heavy and it has problems sometimes to send token that gives error in the extension, very good your contribution we hope more

It is a highly recommended wallet, the installation of the app in the search engine extension is really fast, it is very safe and you can recover the wallet with the JSON file if it were to lose its installation.

Metamask is one of the most advanced wallets I've been reading about. It has lots of advantages and an easy way to manage it. I'm about to use it and enjoy its benefits. On the other hand, I agree with you. You don't need it to create an Ether wallet, both work with autonomy but using Metamask for this task ensures the best functioning anyway.
